Not the deliciously eatable ones or the cartoon characters immortalised by the late Charles Schultz but the packing peanuts - the polystyrene horrors which burst out as soon as you open any boxes containing them.
As any who have followed my DPD saga you know i was waiting for some items which finally came.
Unfortunately so did the polystyrene horrors - so how do I get rid of them - I know they don't like petrol but think the neighbours, police, fire service might get a bit umpty if I tried dowsing them in it.
And my local council warns that I can't put them in the bin used for recycling plastic.
If I had a car I suppose I could go out one night with a few black bags full of them and gradually sprinkle them around the countryside but I suppose that might be considered a tad anti-social.
So my only realistic option is to bag them and put them in my household waste bin to go into landfills - where they will last presumably for thousands of years.
One other box I received seemed to have the best answer and the only vendor who did this.- shredded heavy cardboard in long strips - no problems there - straight into my recycling bin.
But the peanuts - well nuts to them - it's the landfill for them - unless anyone has a better idea?
