What Did You Have For Dinner Today?

Ar my school, they used to disguise parsnips :puke: as chips....and plates had to be emptied. A lot of unhappy kids on parsnip day!!

Pink custard Yum (y)
And of course frog spawn masquerading as semolina ( was it?)
Mind you there was never a beef burger or pizza in sight ;)

Oh how about the blotchy looking spaghetti, oh and the horrible mash they used to scoop onto your plate with an ice cream scoop thingy :puke:

Oh how about the blotchy looking spaghetti,
Don't remember ever being served that, TBH I only remember proper English food, pie and mash etc

And if you looked all doleful like a little puppy you got two scoops :D

wow they are all big dinners... if I had any of these I would never be able to eat my tea....

PS they are called "dinner ladies" for a reason :)

But isn't that a little sexist? But there again, Dinner Men sounds so wrong!

Anyway back on track, we had Cajun Chicken and Chips for evening meal tonight. Pretty scrumptious, just not enough of it :( . Made up for it, by a very early supper of Chocolate Cheesecake, not as good as the lemon Cheesecake mind, but went down OK non the less :p

Or maybe you were so traumatised by it, you have blocked it from your mind

Chicken fajitas for me tonight...

...and school dinners have resulted in lifetime loathings of liver and beetroot... :puke:

Never had them together, not sure that'd work TBH :D
But you can't beat liver and onions ( with a slice or two of bacon. :D )
on a cold winters night

Nothing finer than a cheese and beetroot sandwich :-)

I made "chili con Madras" yesterday and had it with some cauliflower bhaji - lovely.

Wasn't frogspawn (aka fishes' eyes in glue) tapioca?

Lunch today was a bacon sarnie (brown bread, no butter and CBA to fetch some sauce! [might have if it had been Heinz!]) and supper will be iffit, possibly with a couple of fishcakes (and Heinz ketchup!)

Being a suvvenner, dinner is an evening meal out! (Technically/semantically, I believe that dinner is the main meal of the day.)

Chiilli con carne bubbling...rice soaking.
Yum.

Chicken soup.
Well, it was meant to be chicken soup but the wife forgot to put the chicken in it.
I kept expecting to have a spoonful of chicken...
Hopefully we'll have chicken soup tomorrow.
The bread was past its best too.
Hopefully we'll have fresh bread tomorrow.

Same in my school.
I remember being told that I wasn't allowed to leave the table to go out on the yard until I'd finished eating some pile of disgusting goop off the plate.
Arms crossed : "OK. I'll stay here then" . . . and I did, until lunchtime was over :D
There was no way in hell I was going to eat some of the stuff that they served up.

Tonight, we had home-made chicken and vegetable soup with freshly baked, crusty rolls.
Sorry @kendo1 . I've just seen your post and it sounds like I'm really rubbing it in now

My leftover Madras con carne (got it the right way around this time) got converted into very, very spicy cottage pie. The mashed potato topping was helped along with sauteed leeks and some chopped fesh coriander.
My OH commented on the heat levels and had a small portion (no smutty comments please:rolleyes:), and we have a couple more meals left from it.

:grumpy:

Just the same as when we ask you to put the kettle on the the staffroom :D

I had some left over chicken curry

I say some because I forgot to cover it and most of it ended up around the inside of my microwave

Last night was chachouka, tonight will be spicy chickpeas with cumin potatoes.

I posted at 7:21pm ;)

Yes but it could have been early evening, as 6pm :p I am up at 5am in the morning, and I am in bed by 10pm. I do go on the internet if I cant sleep, so I may post late. I cant eat later in the night, as I tend to get reflux, if I am not careful. So my last meal will be 8.30pm, so basically Supper time for me is 8.30pm ;)

PS

I know a bone idle lazy sod whose breakfast time is Lunch time :D
