What Did You Have For Dinner Today?

Made myself a mini tapas selection - padron peppers, tortilla and chorizo. And a cheeky fino, of course.

Any luck with the Padrón peppers? Any really hot? And, most importantly, were they really from Padrón?

Not yet had but dinner planned for tonight is a dry aged rib eye steak with some greens. Really looking forward to it.

Yes. This and discussing topics that got me banned from this forum twice.

I just thought you were a reformed character :)
The Continental air does wonders.

Beef stew in the slow cooker started last night.
It should be ready for about 6.00

Roast beef, Yorkshire pudding, cauli cheese, roast spuds, roast parsnips, carrots, cabbage, broccoli, leeks, horseradish sauce and gravy. Probably missed out a couple of other veg too! Glad someone else was doing the washing up (and did the cooking...)

Love cauli cheese with a roast dinner. Some people just don't do it and find it weird. You should have seen the look i got from my father in law when i cooked them a roast the first time. In fact i don't think i would try it. He loves it now though.

They are now. After much whining Ocado are now restocking Brindisa Padrons and not the 'padron-style' ones by Natoora.
You can tell the difference.

Power to the whingers!

Last night was another mini tapas night, this time with Llamawoman. Had padron peppers (of course), spicy chickpeas and tortilla. Then ice cream with a homemade blackberry sauce.

And I'll be making pisto manchego later in the week... having a bit of Spanish theme at the moment!

I wonder if david hameron had pork for dinner?

Just baked some rolls and had them with some cheese

In a few I will be taking the cinnamon and raisin swirls I just made out of the oven

If only the internet did smellyvision... mmmm......

Guess what we are having tonight.

Vegetable Biriani, Garlic Naan, Onion Bhaji and a pint....... of iced water with sliced lemons. No alcohol allowed since my stroke :-(

Et voila fully home made and bellisimo.

Do you know, it took me a couple of minutes before I could remember.
Mashed potatoes, bacon, fried egg, peas, pickled onions, all mixed up with ketchup.
Only way to get number two to eat something different. If its good enough for dad.......and cooking for two or more is slightly cheaper than separate meals for each.

Fantastic!
I'll have to order a bag then if they are the real deal from Padrón.
Thanks for the info.

Delivery costs might be a bit steep for only one bag! You might do better to get from Brindisa directly, or pop down to Borough Market.

I get my weekly shop from Ocado anyway.

2 bowls of home made scotch broth for lunch, homemade beef/pork burgers for teatime, need a quick meal tonight.

Lunch was piquant musk-octopus on wholemeal bread and supper/high tea/the evening meal will be fish pie. Can't wait for my see food and eat it!

I too get my weekly shop from them so no problem regarding delivery.
