When you got a DSLR I mean?

Just wondering what other people did with their old cameras? I'm debating whether to sell mine on for a few quid or keep it for just in case :D
Added a poll for funsies (when I worked out how...!)

Just being nosy :D

My bridge camera i lent to my dad, who has since got a DSLR as well, and hes kept hold of the bridge camera, then again it was a crap camera so its better someone else has it not me!

well I'm new also to the DSLR and keep my old faithfull ixus 60 in my handbag for any occasion and for when I haven't the time to "mess about", but the more i get the hang of my new camera the less i am using it. I don't feel ready to pass on to a younger relation yet which is what i would like to do eventually.

Kept it for a year just in case I needed it, and sold it yesterday without ever using it.

I kept my compact camera. I use the point & shoot when i'm going for a night out, or anywhere i'd be worried about taking my "good" camera. Or, i use it when going for a day trip with mates, when i just want to have a fun day out, capture a few memories, but not have to lug about a load of gear.

Nikon bridge cameras, kept as backup to D60 then sold when I got a D300. Kept D60 as back up to D300 then got a Fuji S5 Pro and sold D60 :D

One I traded away for a snake, one I gave to my dad, the rest I kept. :)

I tend to keep them too. About 15 or so at last count.

I gave mine to my Father-in-law, he tends to get most of my techie hand-me-downs (he's been first in line for every old mobile phone I've replaced - why he doesn't just buy a decent one I don't know!)

I keep my trusty Canon Ixus in my handbag so I have nearly always got a camera with me, and I lend it to family when they need a camera. I still have my late husbands Canon film SLR and somewhere in the loft I must have several old box cameras and probably a Polaroid.

Sell on. I don't need more than I and generally need to pay for what I have just bought!

Kept, the only camera I have sold so far was my last SLR to fund my 'new' one. Otherwise, all my PnS cameras have stayed as are the old film cameras I've bought from various charity shops.

:D I think that we may have found the culprit.

lol. Both of those were D100 bodies. I kept my N90s and my third D100 body. :)

Kept it... my old bridge camera still gets used... Since I got an SLR... I also bought a P&S for when I want to take a camera, but can't deal with the load of the SLR as well... traveling with work springs to mind.

Kept my F5 for ages then swapped it for a broken F3...*grumble*

Donated my D1x to my Dad...

had a nikon coolpix 2100 or something like that with 2.1mp !!! :O . still have it but last time I checked, it had died.

oh ! but that was just my first digital. film , the first died aswell. minolta 7000si or something.

I sold my first digital camera. Nikon D70s to defray the cost of it's replacement a Nikon D300. All my film cameras I still have. A very varied selection, from a 1950's Lordomat rangefinder through to a few Nikons, an Olympus OM20 with lots of goodies, two Ruskies and lots of odd kit.

Still got 2 or 3 film compacts - they're worth sawed awl as trade in, so why dispose of them?
Still got a couple of digital compacts/bridges, although I'm hoping that Wheels will take the bridge off me for his stroke group's photography sessions. The Coolpix 3100 still gets used by my wife, as long as she doesn't move the wheel or press any buttons, she can use it easily.
Still got a couple of AF film bodies. Again, worth next to nothing as trade ins so I've kept them.
Still got my first DSLR (D70). Worth very little as a trade in and I rather like using it, so I'm keeping it.
I did sell my D200 though - someone made me a reasonable offer and the cash came in handy after buying the D700!

I reckon that makes me a little awkward (even though I'm not little!) so that's how I voted.

I still have my first camera which was an ancient Olympus film camera! But I still have both of my Fujis, which aren't used any more.

I keep them...
I have even re-bought a few of my early cameras, like an olympus trip, a super solinette,
and an ensign 16-20 with ross express lens. I have also bought a few of my early exposure meters. and other accessoriies.
