Yes
Santa brought me a stack of book vouchers and I want to buy a decent book that will take me from the basics through to more advanced levels of
CS2.

The obvious problem when you google the reviews is finding an unbiased opinion.

Can I canvas some views on books you all may have read/bought that would be suitable for me to use and keep returning to when I need some help!

Cheers.

I had a thread on this very same question not so long ago, and it came down to choosing between the above two books, with the main difference being....

Martin Evening teaches technique developed for a tool "IE How to achieve a certain effect a certain way".

Scott Kelby teaches technique with the end result in mind. IE "How to achieve soft skin" for example.

I was going to ask the same question sooner or later!
Thanks for the advice EvilOwl, I think i'll go for the Kelby one, by the sounds of the reviews it not too over complicated and injects humour into a educational tool! ;)

Consider it ordered!

Yeah he does write in a very friendly and humorous way. Quite easy to read, and down to earth too.

Great stuff... thanks for the replies.

Thanks for that Marcelle

I have bought stacks and stacks of magazines with articles on how to this and how to that.

I'm sure you know how many of those I have actually used...:bonk: :bonk:

Thank goodness for the net because local bookshops simply do not stock those...
