Just got an X100, but I really cannot call it a compact compared to the LX5 it's replacing.
So, it's not a DSLR nor a CSC and is, to my mind, not a compact.
A Midi, perhaps?
X100 for me, wether or not you think it's a compact rather depends on what you compare it to, I really like this camera the IQ is superb it doe's have a number of failings but I can live with them, there is a replacement on the horizon which is supposed to address a lot of the problems so it may be trade in time when it comes on the market.
Ricoh GX200 for me. Stunning quality of lens and quite a well made little beast, though the optional split lens cap is essential to me.
Image stabilisation is amazing, I've had sharp photos at 1/2 second exposure. I've no idea how it works, but it needs to as noise is diabolical at anything other than the base ISO value.
I also find I need the optional external EVF for use in bright sunlight.
