as above......... depends on the car.

White is much more fashionable and is more practical

Black is less susceptible to fashion but is a nightmare to keep looking good and scratches easier on the whole.

If it's a Yeti surely it has to be White? Plus White is far easier to keep clean :)

These are reasons Im going with white but Martyn is worried about it being risky , the resale value tbh is a mute point as it is likley i will have it once Martyn moves on.

Colour won't make much difference to resale value unless it is a 'marmite' type colour and particularly one which is not based on white, red, blue, silver or black.

White would normally only be a resale value issue on low specification company cars.

just to throw a spanner in the works Martyn now wants steel gray, which is a dark sliver :bang::bang:

nah we already have a Yetti which is like 10 months old but cos there is a 6 month lead time the part x on it means we can up grade with a few extras for like nothing when you account in mots and services and stuff.

White has definately come in with a bang, we are selling more white cars thane ver before, as said it is easier to clean than black, shows less scratches and normally cheaper as white is usually a non metallic colour. I would not worry about resale in the slightest...

Steel silver wins over white or black IMHO,it'll show the car off much better.

White, fit some blue leds to the front and see how often the car in front slows down to the speed limit when you come up behind them :)

Steep bad ....lol

Putting on a white shirt too works wonders also

Silver every day of the week. Looks clean when dirty, hids scratches, and makes it much easier to sell as people either love/hate black and white.

White.

Black is too common and silver is the most boring colour for a car ever!

Burnt umber or magenta! As for finding a car in a carpark, my wife used to have a black mini with a white roof. It had white viper stripes on the black bits and black ones on the white roof. Very easy to find!

Just registered a new demo at work tonight which is white so after this thread just had to bring it home, will have some tea and then try play with camera and flash lol...

Statistically, red cars have less accidents.

I say White, it looks the nicest out of the two colours. Also goes with the whole yeti theme

Have posted this with another in it's own thread but as post counts don't matter here and not for crit in this section, white is definately the way to go :)

White cars keep far cooler in summer. Nuff said. My next car will almost certainly be white, or possibly silver/titanium/gunmetal. My current one is black. I've had a few black cars over the years. They look nice enough, but can get very toasty.

Only if you park them in direct Sunlight ;-)

Or drive them along a congested motorway at snail's pace on the day the sun is shining. Sure, you can use AC, but at a cost to fuel consumption and power/performance. If the car can keep itself cooler, passively, than there is less work for the AC to do.

In a modern car air con makes no difference to fuel economy,

How does that work then? You mean the compressor requires no power from the engine to drive it? Impressive engineering indeed.

It probably uses very little is what he means. Like these people that are fretting that day running lights will make all cars more inefficient... not any more than they were a few years ago.

When I was a coach driver with the full uniform, white shirt black epiletes etc, in the car on way to/back from work people used to look in the mirroe & nearly stop!:D

To OP it would have to white for me, as said black is a nightmare to keep clean, & looking new.

The difference between using a/c and not is no more a variable these days than the different type of traffic you drive in so can not really be used asa factor in fuel economy. With a modern a/c system you lose more in fuel by driving with you window or sunroof open due to the differences in the aerodynamics of the car.

A/C systems have come a long way since the systems of old where they used to be a massive drain on the vehicle...
