What colour Is this lastolite ?

That's incredibly old and no longer available I'm afraid. Your best best is to look on ebay for something like that now. There's nothing current like that in the range at this moment in time.
 
A google search suggest textured grey (link to an old sale item)
 
I know , that's where I saw it my iPhone froze and I missed bidding on it :(

I think textured grey is just the closest description not the actual name, it's a very unusual background as you've got they grey swirls and those white lines are actually a material that's been stuck on top so you get a different look depending on how it's lit.

I imagine they don't make them anymore as it must be comparatively expensive to manufacture.

Seeing as his most lastolite names are along the lines of
Bracken , Orlando, etc etc

I assumed textured grey was just his description and not the actual name

Let us know if you find out the name, there has to be a few more floating about. I might actually contact Lastolite and see what they have to say, they ignored the last question I asked them though.

They're not being made anymore. This background is incredibly old... along the lines of 10 years plus. I can probably find out the name for you, although like I said, they've long been discontinued.

Well I like to know this stuff as I get to handle a lot of old studio gear and there's some stuff you just can't find anymore, I'd also be willing to bet this was part of a series so there's other unusual backgrounds.
 
I contacted lastolite , it's not been made in 15 years and they can't help with the name of it.

When you've had your fill of it @simonbarker be kind and offer us first refusal eh? ;)

if you have a link will you send me it @simonbarker as I've looked on ebay at listings that are on now, and finished and I don't see it anywhere

I was devastated when I lost the auction , it seemed when it ended eBay had mucked up my bid..... Until I found out my lovely oh seeing how much I wanted it had cancelled my bids without me knowing and won it for me herself [emoji173]️
