Can anyone recommend a carrier that will collect a parcel from a domestic residence, insure and deliver it to a retailer.

Just been to my local PO to ask about sending some kit.
To my surprise RM does not accept packages in excess of 2kg.
That's not very handy.
 
I'll 2nd parcel2go.com, I've used them several time and the service has been good, even with using parcel farce.

If you send it special delivery they do.

You can also send it by Parcelforce with enhanced compensation.

How heavy is it?

Probably be about 3kg.

Just checked RM website and their Special Delivery service has a 10kg. limit.

You think they would have mentioned that in the PO.

Thanks to everyone else for their suggestions.
 
another for one here for parcels2go used them several times now on one transaction alone i spent £150 Well the customer did arrived on the other side of the planet in 3 days and tracked all the way well pleased
 
3kg takes it into the 'stupid' bracket for RMSD - upto 2kg it's not too bad by then jumps from £8.65 to £21.65.

Parcelforce 48 used to more reasonable for lower value items but they seem to have jacked their price structure recently.
 
Just dont use a company called myhermes! Worst courier company I have ever dealt with.
 
UPS..and DHL i have used and both worked fine for me but it was about 2 years ago and i can't for the life of me remember the costs.

The disturbing thing is, I spent ages trying to find this page that I was certain I'd seen before, and couldn't find it. Then I looked in my favourites and I'd saved it. So here it is - what they don't want anybody to see. It's unsettling.

Camera - no compensation!!

I have used CHESTERPOST www.chesterpost.com on lots of occasions. They buy parcelforce deliveries in bulk and resell them at a discount. Also when you buy in bulk the 20Kg limit becomes 31.5Kg!!

Last time I used it it was about £12 for a 10Kg parcel collected from my house and delivered next day to another house. There used to be a £1 per collection discount after the first one too.

EDIT: £10.99 for 31.5Kg 1-3 days with £100 insurance, goes up to £14.99 for next day (although all my 1-3 day ones have been next day anyway :))

You can increase the insurance but cant remember the price.
