What car do you drive?

As of yesterday morning I ended 18yrs of very enjoyable Mondeo ownership. 2xMk1's, 2xMk2's and lastly a Mk3 ST TDCi. Mk4 too big for my needs so it was time to move on. Now enjoying this.

A few times a year, when I can still get in it, (my son have taken it over), but I bought in new in 1989 and it's a "keeper'

Had a 911 pull up next to us as we were filling mine for the weekend. Fully caged and scrutineer stickered (didn't see what events the stickers were for). Slightly less cool when it failed to start and he had to get the (much used and ready for action!) booster pack out to fire it up.

If you mess with them they can be temperamental "beasts"

When he got it started it didn't sound too messed about with. I'm guessing he has a tiny battery in the slot to reduce weight, hence the starter pack.

If they were a bit more practical, I could be tempted by a Porsche but we sometimes need 3 seats (or more) and that's JUST possible in my wife's XK8 (I can just squeeze into the back seats for a few miles and she can fit fairly confortably as long as the passenger seat's well forward!) and easy in mine (proper saloon with 4 doors).

This is the last of the "old shape" aircooled, non aircon models which windscreen wipers that are useless at anything over 70 mph

I settle for the last of the 9 3 Aero Convertibles these days as a 'summer" car

The wife's is her daily drive and gets used for medium range days out as well. A bit gassy for longer distances though - 18-20 at a guess while mine's good for 40+ at motorway speeds.

I took delivery of this little hyper hatch recently....It is insane....

Still need to clean up my outgoing Audi A4 Quattro Convertible to sell, but have too much fun throwing the R about...

Thanks. The driveway is about 0.8km. If it rains and you don't own a 4WD or AWD you do not get out (or in) if it rains.
My son owns a Toyota Hilux 4WD diesel crew cab.

This is his vehicle (picture shot by my wife) and ( am the guy without ear protection). The two boys are our sons.
We are getting firewood as it is in winter.

Our daughter in law owns a Mazda CX 7 (I think) turbo diesel AWD. That's it there on the left of the house.

No, don' that - get the Griffin front and the ice block headlights of the2012 model, also put a new bumper on the back so you have a proper Aero (that's an Aero Anniversary BTW), 2009 models have visible exhausts

you will have to send me a link ……… I had 5 SAAB's before that …….. but all 9 5 Estates …….. still love them …….. just something about them

the 9 3 I have now is only just over 200 bhp and it looks like there is little that can be done to up that.

The 9 5 Aero engine was a far better engine

I've sold the old Primera we used a sa family car and bought one of these

150bhp Sport Nav with every toy possible. £30 road tax for a 2.2 turbo diesel isn't bad, although being my forst diesel I've got to get used to a different driving style

Please tell me you have a decent engine underneath all those spoilers :)

Took a nice drive up to Bourton on the Water today. How glad I am that I bought a convertible!

These are very old pictures. It's not my daily car but one of my projects. I also have an E34 BMW M5 as a project and hoping to get it to 600bhp+ and a VW passat tdi as my daily driver. I've only put a custom Remap on the passat to bring it up to 190bhp with it being my daily car. I don't have pictures of them but I will have to sometime. Love my cars :D I built up this MK2 from a bare shell that started off as a 1.3 mexico.

You doing anything with the Capri in the background?

No it went last summer and the E34 M5 has taken it's place. I restored the body and basically made it a mint condition rolling shell. It would have been easier to sell that way for someone to have their own project rather than putting a new engine in it.

Nice work on the Essie, by the way; nice, simple & clean looking.
Cheers. I built it up for rally events but not done much to it in the last year or two now. It will need a few bits changing here and there to keep up with all the rules and regulations now tough. Can't keep up with the health and safety BS lol.

Have to love a MK2 Escort. I had a MK2 RS Mexico up until two years ago when it was destroyed by fire :(. Old pic of it. :)

That's stunning. I'd be devastated if that happened to mine and I can feel your pain. I bet you got nowhere near enough money back compared to what you put into it. I'll get some recent pictures of mine tomorrow. It gets driven sideways more than in a straight line :)

It was insured for 20k. That enabled me to buy the mk1 RS2000 that I have now. I had owned the mk2 for 15 years & was my wedding car. Absolutely heartbroken when it died.

I've had a series of Mini's over the last few years, the last being a 2012 JCW, however, I'm rather enjoying my new toy...

I drive the new Mazda 6 for work, Same engine and package, but a saloon.. I find it's not a bad drive, quite nippy when it wants to be, but a small tank!? Only got 50l in last fill up, and i was down to 30 miles on the DIS..!

I have a B5 Nogaro Blue S4 in the garage with it's heart out 'mid-strip'.. Currently on target for 600whp :)

Nice project. I had a B5.5 4motion passat that I put a B5 RS4 engine and running gear into and it ran great. Wasn't close to 600+ though because I only did small modifications but aiming to get 600-700 with my BMW which it's easily capable of. I just have to find the time lol.

i have a 59 plate focus 1.6 titanium and also a 14 year old honda civic 1.4 which was given to us by the inlaws and only has 26,000 on the clock and is what i use to get to work and back.
looking at getting rid of the honda for something a bit newer(been looking at bmw 320d 2.0) but i know the wife will say there is nothing wrong with it.

And one from the rear, when all four of those pipes open up in race mode I can't help but smile....really love how the new haldex distributes the power between all four wheel. The grip is immense, and yet the rear end breaks out a little. It's wonderfully insane.

Bought a nearly new Jaguar XF about 9 months back. It's the 3 litre V6 diesel version. Really really happy with it, it handles very well for a big car, goes quickly and we had 42mpg out of it on a recent trip. It's a Premium Luxury model, so loads of toys to keep me happy too.

Jealous, Bet that lovely, Really dreaming of a F-Type lately but doubt Id earn enough in my lifetime for such, Recently bought this 2.0d SE (55) and love it....View attachment 12932

Some rather nice cars in here ,so not going to embarrass myself but posting pics of our corsa:oops: :$.
We both only past in the past two years, my wife two years ago and me last aug. Thought it needed doing as I'm nearly 30. two years old and its only done 5000 miles:exit:

By the end of the year we are planning to buy another, the two I've narrowed it down to are an A3 quattro desiel or 1 series(120/125 desiel)… going to test drive them both first. Everyone i know has different opinions on what best more reliable so not sure which way to go.:banghead:

Ahh, our Family car is a 1.6td Citroen C4, so it's not all great haha

Out of the two, if you're both driving i'd plump for the (unbiased ;)) A3 quattro.. simply because quattro.. or Haldex in that case, but still 4WD (y) we get snow sometimes lol
