currently got a mini copper 2012 olympic special edition but i change cars as much as i buy cameras lol

Did he come with blue lights? :)

Bloody good towing capability there Ian!

Yep.

It does dull the performance a little, but it is always reassuring to have a Shackleton to call upon in case of emergencies.

:)

Bump...

Same car, few more mods, 18" Chrome Blades with new Goodyear Eagle asymmetric 2's, Eibach Pro springs, Mtec grooved discs and yellowstuff fast road pads at the front, soon to be fast road set up at Grinspeed plus a lot of new detailing gear to keep her shiney:cool:

For most of my life, I had been a Ford man. Most likely by force of habit. Ignoring the VERY early years (Ford Anglia etc), I had a Mk2 Cortina, two Mklll cortinas, then a 1.6L Sierra (Jelly Mould) hatchback .

In 1991, I started buying new cars, and have had a new one every three years since.

The first was a Sierra Sapphire 1.8, followed by a Sierra Sapphire 2.0. This was then followed by 5 consecutive Mondeos, all 2.0L, with the last one being a TDci. No complaints with any of them, except the very high level of depreciation suffered by the Mondeo.

In 2006, I changed over to Nissan, buying 2.2L diesel X-Trail. Nice car, with plenty of grunt, but the engine sounded like a 'bag of nails', especially when cold.

Kept this for three years, then changed it for the newer model X-Trail, with the 2.0L 175bhp Renault Diesel. Quiet, comfortable, a pleasure to drive, and for a diesel 4x4, went like 's*** off a shovel'.

In 2009, no longer needing tow a caravan, I changed over to a 2.0L 153bhp TDci Qashqai n-tec. Not as much bhp as the X-Trail, but being lighter, it is plenty responsive, comfortable, and a pleasure to drive. It also averages around 44mpg with extra-urban driving. On a long run, if I don't drive it too hard, it nudges up towards 50mpg.

When this one is three years old in September, I'll buying another diesel Qashqai, without a second thought. Love the car, and love the fact that the depreciation is significantly less than with Mondeos.

I. HAVE. GOT. TO. HAVE. ONE......

Now the 'Cut the Rope' theme tune is going to be stuck in my head all day. Thanks guys!!! :shifty:

8since the early part of this thread gone are the Vauxhall Astra SRi with VXR kit and remap to 187bhp

As has the BMW z4.....

In yheir place is a Zafira Design Sat with the 1.7 TD and a Corsa Black Edition. (1.4T)

Noticeably different fuel consumption.

Still have the Mittsubishi Pajero 2800 Ti but with a cracked cylinder head. Might try and fix it. Unless somelne here imterested.

After a while not driving I am looking for something for myself. Not sure what.... Ideal would be the Audi R6 with the Lambo engime and 700bhp.... but getting real..... not realistic....

I am either too old for a Honda or too young....

Cool, big meeting this weekend at Donington for BTCC with track side parking for members. Should be about 40-50 members there with my 5 door nestled in between all the Type R's.

nowt wrong with hondas :)

had this for nearly a year now had a honda accord before it for over 7 years

Can you not afford any paint for the bonnet? ;)

I was going to get one of those instead of the plus but I counldnt find one locally with a dry rear footwell :(

Yes, that is quite a common problem. My seals leak but not into the footwell, it just gathers atop the seals. Don't use the rear doors anyway :P

It's a great car, I'm very happy with it. Fun when it needs to be but 50+mpg even cruising at 80mph.

'52 Mini Cooper. I'm only 20, so it's ok to insure and has enough poke for the time being :)

2 at the moment

Subaru Impreza WRX hatch and a Defender 90 300TDi, I love both of them like they were my children.

Despite being at opposite ends of the performance spectrum they both return similar awful mpg which is fine as I couldn't care less

Bought a nearly new Jaguar XF about 9 months back. It's the 3 litre V6 diesel version. Really really happy with it, it handles very well for a big car, goes quickly and we had 42mpg out of it on a recent trip. It's a Premium Luxury model, so loads of toys to keep me happy too.
