What car do you drive?

Haha, Just stick with diesel, it's sooooo nice to have a BMW driver say "you sure that's diesel?" I just love the pull through the gears. 4th gear, foot down, and there's very few petrols that can stay with it, they either haven't got the torque or they're messing about changing gear to make it scream. Mine was only a 130, a 55 reg, cost me £1500 earlier this year, spent about £400 (not including killer stereo) and it's just short of 180. In real world driving, it ain't far behind an ST and several thousand cheaper to buy.
Mine needs a rear wheel bearing.....b****r!

Sorry, I meant the ST. The pastic flappy thingy coming off and going in the engine or something puts me off the petrols, although I think they fixed it in later years? I do like the style of the ST though, lots of toys also.

Got my rear bearing done at the start of the year. A nice expensive sealed unit! lol

Plastic flaps was only on very early models, up to 2001 I believe.
As for rear wheel bearings if you want oem parts search for SKF bearings on ebay. They make them for Ford. Expensive but cheaper than Ford. My mate bought one of the £35 cheap ones off ebay, but it didn't even last a year.

Car was still under warranty (extended) so I had to get them to do it which probably meant Dingbro parts, which aren't all that bad really. I just replaced a trackrod end with a part from Dingbro and it seemed identical to the Ford part! lol The only time I really noticed a difference was with the Accord, I went to change the whole exhaust and the weight of the genuine Honda one put the Dingbro one to shame! lol

I also use Ford Direct for parts which I think are genuine?

I'm sending my galaxy back on the 30th for a full refund of my deposit as it has gearbox problems that Ford don't seem interested in sorting.
So I have done a deal with a friend of a friend and am getting a Renault Clio 172cup :) it should be ok to put me on until I find something more practical

So, since my last post - a Citroen DS3. A vectra, a berlingo van, a Clio, a traffic van and a Megane diesel coupe.

Only one of them (berlingo) was actually mine (I'm in the motor industry!!)

Quite a noticeable difference with the solid plate :)

Likely to not be going out today...

Roads are slowly clearing but it would be a shame if some tw@ ran into it!

More of the white stuff Nod....Urgh!

I just dropped a large wedge of the kids inheritance on this...

TTRS Plus 360 bhp. Most fun you can have with your socks on. :D

Sorry about the phone pic.

In constrast to the TTRS above.....

Mk.2 Mondeo Verona LX 1.8 here! Which is basically a dog transporter at the moment.

....i've been eyeing up Minis though, there's a Rover Cooper 1.3  at a dealers near me... I go past it every day to work..... tempting isn't the word.

We've had 3 original Minis in our family, I think it's down to me to continue that.... haha

Nice car, I've got a MK1 TT 225, remapped and just had the arb's updated and the wishbones rebushed. Feels much better now :) hopefully you're going to do some mods? Having spent too many hours at The TT Shop in Bedford it's hard not drooling over their heavily modified TTRS, 512bhp, and more to come I believe.

I won't say never, but I'm not planning any mods. Car And Driver have just timed the stock TTRS at 3.6 secs 0-60 - I'm not planning any track use so I can't really see the point, it's a daily driver with all the grunt I need, but we'll see.

A simple Stage 1 remap would give over 400 bhp, I certainly wouldn't want to take it any further with hardware upgrades etc.

A Mazda RX8 for fun and a Mazda Bongo for practicality. No idea how i ended up with two Mazdas, but they're both great at what they do.

My mistress just turned 1 years old ...

She's something I'd love to pass on to my daughter one day.

Ageing Ford Fiesta rubbish with an intermittent EAC fault that seems to pick up stray radio signals in certain places and throw a wobbly. We inherited it but I'm planning to go back to SA soon, so I'll wait until I get there to get another car. I dislike driving in the UK anyway - too many cops who take the road traffic laws seriously!

Had to slum it this morning and drive my wife's car instead of mine. I'd forgotten how much fun her 1.8 MX-5 is! A bit chilly with no heated seats though!!!

One of these......

Nissan Skyline R33 GTST here - had it for just over 4 years (if my memory is working right).....it's been "interesting" in the snow, but at least I didn't get stuck this time (so far anyway).

You can buy electric blankets on ebay that plug into the cigarette lighter socket. I'm sure that will keep you warm:thumbs:

The heater in hers is very good really, it's just that my car's a bit more civilised! Hers is easier to park though which is why we took that rather than te XF.

All of your lovely sports cars and jags are all very nice, but can't hold a candle to my Vauxhall Zafira. 1.8cc's of raw, unbridled power. She's a beaut! :)

My chauffeur turns up each morning for me. Still don't like the big First bus logo on the side though !

My newest plaything...

Currently still in project stage, soft top will be going, hard top will be appearing, as will proper wheels and suspension. There is also some rust to be chopped out when the weather improves.

Im seriously becoming tempted by a 1 series coupé BMW (dont like the hatchback version at all) if I can find one within budget. I found one with 20,000 odd on it, 09 reg, 2.0 SE diesel. 177BHP yet combined mpg is over 60. Whats not to like! Im guessing it must have the stop/start technology on it to return figures like that.
Anyone here owned one and like to comment?
