What car do you drive?

Mercedes estate - comfy, silent, nippy.
Maverick 4 x 4 - noisy, slow and very thirsty, but real 4WD & low transfer box means it takes me shooting off road without any problems

i have a focus titanium 2.0 tdci and a focus zetec tddi estate for work nothing exciting but i got fed up with high running costs after 2 new focus st's a mondeo st220 and a mondeo v6 zetec s
when the country gets back on its feet i may get something a little more fun to drive but for the time being i will stick with what i have

ok... Ford Focus Mk1.5 (Facelift) 1.8TDCi 115 - With ST170 Cosmetic bits, and a Dragon Tuning Tuning box... Shortly hopefully to have a Remap ;) 146bhp and 350nm of Torque... that'll do for now lol!!

Here she is...

Currently got and Audi A4 Avant S-Line (09) and love it! Had to get the 19" alloys though.

Recently got rid of my BMW Z4 2.5 because it was as boring as hell.

What do you drive and what do you think of your car?

Porsche Boxster S is my everyday transport. I think it's brilliant. I've owned it over 6 years, it's 10 years old and soon 100,000 miles and have no wish to ever change it.

I also own a Singer Chamois with a 998cc engine running twin 40s and no bags of sand in the bonnet, as that ruins the turn in and agility of the car :p .

and a Davrian Mk7a (photo by "Wheelspin photography" - when I bought the print 10 years ago he said I could scan it and use it on the web provided he got a credit, so there it is) with of course a 998cc Imp engine, on four Mikuni flat slide carbs. 0-60 in 5 seconds, or less.

and a VW T25 Caravelle Syncro van as the tow vehicle for the Davrian. I don't like engines in the front, can you tell :D.

Nissan Xtrail 2.2 DCI Sport.

Does the job, but I'd rather have a Landrover

I had an 02 Honda Civic 1.6 3-door and absolutely loved it but unfortunately I became unable to drive a manual so passed it on to the missus and it sits on the drive taunting me.

I had a Renault Scenic 1.6 for three yeas and it was :gag:. I now have a Ford Focus 1.6 Titanium which is much better but I still miss driving the Civic.

So the ST in your name is purely cosmetic? :p

Yup lol!! i was trying to buy a Mondeo TDCiST (Hence the name) and then the forum name just stuck... had it for years now lol!!

One day... One day.... (when ford release a decent sporty diesel that is!)

why? - mines the biggest heap of sh** I've had the pleasure of owning

Hugh

What have you got?
Just have a thing for them, I had a 1981 ex army 109 that was a beast. Just a slightly cooler factor than the Xtrail.

I drive a L200 and the wife has a VW golf, not exciting at all, thats why i have a suzuki GSXR1000 in the garage for fun times

spike

2003 Vauxhall Signum - electric everything, cavernous boot 33mpg
2004 ZX10R - can ruin a rear tyre in 40 miles with full throttle - 23mpg, yes 23mpg from a fuel injected motorbike

Quite fancy a BMW120D

I got something like that from my FireBlade when we were running late for the ferry in France, but at 135mph it does tend to drink !!

Steve

I drive a Mitsi Pajero 2.8 chunky diesel - its great and i love it when its not off the bloody road (its cost more than the car in repairs so far :bang: )

2000 BMW 325 coupe.

I really like it. I'm not in a position to spend a fortune on a car and it was a choice between this and something sensible like a 2004 focus or similar. I made the right choice - now I've meddled with the suspension and fixed a few issues it's a remarkably fun car to drive.

Mine even has working orange bulbs on each corner.

sadly I have a freelander 2. Can't wait to get rid

Seat Leon Cupra R 225

Practical for day-to-day stuff and fishing, not as common as most hot hatches, ace to drive and not chavvy (well to some it isn't ;)).

It's done 100K and still runs like a dream. Cheap to run on motorway trips (35-38mpg) but horrific for a car of this size round town with a heavy foot - think 20mpg on a good day, 15mpg on a bad one.

I'll be sad to see it go in 2011 but I need something bigger (V70 or 9-5 estate) to lug around the family to France and back, plus I need a diesel, as my work's mileage rate is pants

Peugeot 107 - got it on the scrapage scheme - a brilliant small, but still 4 door car, and

Zafira Turbo - very comfortable, lots of room and quick.

Ah ok, whats been wrong with it? I thought they were supposed to be the more reliable of the LR's.

mostly electrical. It'll do things like lose all the electrics on the motorway, so sat nav, dashboard, radio , fuel gauge, lights switch off with the engine running and doing what you thing is 80 ish. A few other smaller electrical faults as well, not switching the ECU off when you stop ingnition so the batt drains etc.

I'll sell you my Z4M. It is stupidly quick. I had the 3.0ltr previously and thought that was quick...
But 343bhp and 1400kg. :naughty:

Kev.

At the moment I have a VW Golf GT TDI. It isn't very fast but the fuel economy is quite good. Not standard spec but not over the top either :)

1989 Volvo 240GLT and because it's awesome and one of the best cars ever made. Have put 120.000 miles on it since I got it 5 years ago and will never get another car if I can help it...

I drive a Mk3 Golf Vr6 Highline, had it for 10 years- damn thing refuses to die so i've kept it. Love the torque it has and it's a bit of a sleeper. Don't know what to get next as i've been spoiled all these years.

Missus has got a 206 GTi, handles well and goes well but it's french so it's tish.

Oh and i have a custom S&M LTF BMX that i ride at the weekends and summer evenings...

Not good., have you had it since new? I'd be on LR's back getting a new one. Its a shame, seems like quite a nice little car otherwise.

Just treated the wife to an 06 saab 9-3 cabrio in electric blue, which meant I got the disco 2.
I've heard all the reports about reliability, mine has the odd problems, but I still wouldnt swap it!

You would not regret that. Just change the run flats for normal tyres and it's superb. Try and stretch to the 123d though, same engine, just two smaller turbos rather than one big one

My company car is a 2 litre Audi A3 dsg, I also have the same engine in a Golf Plus which I probably should sell, the A3 is excellent on fuel economy.

Old Vauxhall Tigra! :gag:
I use to have an oldish but luxurious big Volvo Estate automatic. Unfortunately, the transmission buggered. Short on cash and unable to do without a car, my car dealer friend only had a hairdressers car which was in my price range. It's Manual, I hit my head on the ceiling and the suspension is crap. :'(

I don't know if there is a car to replace that bike feeling. Friend of mine said a convertible was the way to go, but you don't get the height. We've got an old xtrail at the mo and that's great for visibility, and I usually drive a peugeot 307 estate, which has really surprised me for handling.

Get a good al round economical car and with the money you save do the odd track day or off road thing to get your kicks.

I'm driving a Renault Clio 197 at the moment. Fantastic little machine, great package out of the box. Ridiculously thirsty for what it is though. I average 24mpg although you can get 30mpg on a long run.

My only gripe is that the boot isn't big enough to fit all my photog gear! It's not fallen apart yet considering it's a french shed ;) (touch wood)

A silver one. Erm, Vauxhall thingy. Corsa! 1998 1.4i, 5 door. Hi-Torque, whatever that means. Low mpg round town, I think? :) I drive very little so it's good enough. I'm not a car person at all, my criteria are: goes, stops and turns when it's supposed to, generally! Anything else is a bonus
I miss my bikes but the last smash wasn't fun.

An 06 VW Polo at the moment!

I had an 06 Civic Type R, which was amazing, but I sold it a year later when I decided to start Uni last year.

Polo is nice, but nothing on my Civic. How I miss that car. I just keep telling myself, I will have another once I have finished my degree!
