What came before photography...

Wish I could do that. I used to enjoy art but completely hopeless
 
You can see 'painting with light' at work.
It's basically what we do, but maybe we don't take enough time doing that to do it properly.
 
I've done some pretty good pencil drawings....but I'd love have this kind of talent.

I would strongly recommend spending some time trawling through the traditional art section of deviantart.com.

The wow moments per hour count is usually pretty high.
 
Impressive and they make it look so easy..
I took extra art classes at school whilst everyone else done P.E but I could never paint like this sadly

Reminds me of a time I had to laugh at some art critique that pointed out the fact a painting almost looked photographic made it NOT art...It was a chap who painted pictures of Elephants that looked photographic in apperance, they took a long tme to do and he was not accepted as an artist, cant remmeber his name though?
 
Nicely done. Although I've been doodling for as long as I remember, I could never do proper art as I get too easily distracted. That's why a typical doodle only takes me less than an hour from pencil draft to the digitally finished version ready for internet show.

I seen something similar a year or two back, maybe on here. Someone done pencil sketches that looked exactly like black and white photos. Amazing talent

Just never seen very much (if any) perhaps you could point me in the right direction. Just wondered if your abilities as a photographer were on a par with your skills at talking a good game. That's all like.

Nah, not that interested really, I was just musing. Maybe later if I have time but I need to pop up to B&Q to get a new set of drills, which'll be a little less boring (pun intended, see what I did there:)) than reading certain online blurb.
