So I was looking for a cheap option to doing some fashion shoots with a friend.

I was looking at this kit for 200 quid but it seems like the biggest let down is the lack of wattage. Its a 150W flash kit which I can't help but think that 150W isn't very powerful. Am I going to run into problems with this limitation of power?
I suppose I am right in thinking that the 150W is in relations to the bulbs fill power and that its is rated so low because its primary use is a flash output bulb.

Please advise?

I had looked at this as like I said. Its only 200 notes

Go onto warehouse express website, there is a guy on there who does reviews on lighting, both he and DP mag gave the interfit a good write up to say its only a budget kit.

Thats where I am looking. I have just looked and quite fancy a 300w Venus kit as I already own a 500w Tungsten interfit fill strobe with 60x60 softbox. I really want a couple of flash heads with umbrellas to go with.

Used this Interfit kit at the beggining, I can say its for sure enought for the start! The main problem is that becouse it is 150W you need to use it at max settings almost all the time ... it also depends on how big room do you have for it. It will be more than enought for the like 2x3m room... I can say this Kit is worth it ... if you are interested i can show some photos using this kit....

Please do ^Demon. I am also interested in seeing the size of the area it was used in.

me too.

[s1]This thread is useless without pics [/s1]

All the shots on my site www.reeldancepix.com (stdio type) in the gallery are shot with one of those kits albeit at full power as Demon says. Lights are approx 12-14 ft from subject and bounced on white brollies.

These were taken with the kit mentioned above, for the price it is certainly good value.

I've heard OK things about an even cheaper lot of lights. Search Ebay for 180ws strobes (or just 180ws, whatever) to see what I mean. They are very cheap (£170 for two umbrellas, a softbox, 2 lights and 2 lighting stands, or <£100 if you leave out the lighting stands and one umbrella), and not too underpowered. In terms of actual guide numbers, they have a similar guide number to a small flash like my sigma EF 500DG Super (at 48). They certainly aren't the most powerful, but they are cheap.

I mention these because the glamour/nude photographer on POTN, Lorek, uses them almost exclusively. You can see his work in the G&N section of POTN.

Hi Finally got back from college... so there is 2 photos one (not the best one ;) ) to describe the place where we' ve been working and the other is the raw converted to jpeg without any adjustments

Great pics mate-i should be ok then when i go and buy a stellar 600 3 head kit as i hope to do next month.

Have a check here, a friend bought the interfit 300 stella from them, worked out cheaper than Warehouse express and they can customise what kit you want.

Depends on what he went for the 2 head softbox option is the same price by the looks of things?

He went for the three head system with two soft boxes, think it was the same price.
