Hi,
I would like to buy a couple of brackets that i could use for my Canon 580.s I would be using a standard light stand and sofbox so I guess the brack would need to have a fair amount of adjustment on it...?
If someone could point me in the right direction please!

Thanks,

Dunc

I take it you're using standard fleabay-style softboxes that come with speedring brackets that fit directly onto a lightstand? Most have a ball-sockt built-in anyway, although I use one that is fixed at 90˚.

I just bought some angle units from viewfinderphotography at Focus2011 that fit onto the lightstand and then into the speedring. Do the job fine and give wide adjustment of angle.

Thanks for the suggestion! At the mo I have just aquired a couple of the older Lencarta softboxes with a universal fitting. The type that attached to the head with 4 large grub screws.
Would the one you suggest work, can't get my head around the mechanics of it.

Thanks,

Dunc

I think they'll be a lencarta fit so you may need to either buy Lencarta heads (studio heads) or buy an adaptor to make them carry a speedlight.

Garry Edwards, a member on here, has a heavy involvement with Lencarta and may be able to offer more assistance :)
