Having just bought a 150-600 lens ( Tamron G2 ) for my Nikon D500 I’m now without a large enough bag to transport it and possibly another couple of lenses as well .. any suggestions as to a suitable bag / backpack
Or is it better to look at hiking backpacks instead ?
 
I have just bought a cotton carrier sling bag that will support your lens on your chest

I have a large Lowepro with a few mildew spots inside (been there for years and doesn't harm my gear - was like it before I got it and I've had it for 3 years now).

It's just sitting in the cupboard.
 
Still down in Devon Terry but if you want put it in a black bin bag and throw it over the fence ,.. our Ashley may be home if it’s early enough he goes to work at around 10 ..very kind of you mate .let me know if you leave it in garden I’ll get him to take it in ..
P.s it’s a corner house

If the free bag doesn't work out I recently bought a Think Tank 150 V3.0 holster bag for my Z8 & 180-600mm lens. I have several bags including two rucksack types but I wanted a bag where I could grab the camera/lens combo when they were attached to each other. My 22l rucksacks weren't quite working for me.

I've got 2 400 and the 500? (or whatever the bigger one is) great bags. Got a crazy amount of kit (and weight) in mine. I wont say it's getting heavy, but it's developing a gravitational field...
Cant fault them. Got caught out in a downpour one day, bag was bone dry inside,
My mate with a 400 fell down the side of a hill, he got a busted elbow and a couple of fingers and a rib or two. His cameras in the bag were fine.

I just bought a used bag from Wex that will work for both my RZ67gear as well as a bag to use to transport my RZ + M43 stuff on holiday. £229 seemed reasonable as it was in mint condition.

I didn't realise they did used bags and stuff.

I really struggle with d750 and 150-600 G2 and I would love to find a solution.
Most bag big enough are divided for many lenses many camera stuff. I personally like to carry the camera with 150-600. A bottle of water. A bit of food. A map. A pair of binocular. One normal lens. So far I have not find anything both good and confortable for hiking this way/

What do you think about this bag? Looks good but having but could ba a bit of a pain too to have a separate camera bag?
 
This is exactly why I changed to MFT cameras. No more heavy long lenses (nikon) to lug around. The Panasonin 100 -300mm (200-600 in FF) is only 7 inches long fully extended and 5"at the short end. and only weighs abouit 1.1lb. This is against the op's lens well over 3lbs in weight
