Well tell us all what you're planning this new year. A change of direction? Plans for new kit etc.....

Well for me it's going to be my first MF format camera, maybe a Hassleblad. Just bought a MF enlarger so I can develop my own film and print it. Just need the camera now.

I`m going to sell the lot and get a bridge camera.

Planning on shooting lots more film! And working on getting some more shots published! Been shooting since September and had 2 shots published already!

Planning on getting back into the wildlife photography. Really lost my passion for it. Long story short I've been very down for the last few months....not being able to get a job is pretty much soul destroying especially seeing as I graduated this yr with a very good grade - and I'm not talking about togging jobs, I'm talking about being turned down for simple receptionist positions... Money worries, etc and just lifes little worries have also slowly hacked away at my sanity and like all bouts of being low you can lose interest even in the things you love.

However I sent away a picture to the BBC wildlife and to my surprise it has been printed in this months edition. To say I'm chuffed is an understatement. It's awoken the passion I had and realised that it never went away - life has just taken over for bit.

Bit like Squizza really, want to get out and take some wildlife shots, so much opportunity very nearby and need to get out and do it rather than think about it.

Hoping to retire from my job of 35 years and become a mature university student at the grand old age of 52, so will at least get more spare time and a lot less hassle (considerably less cash too, but worth it I reckon for peace of mind)

Hi Sharon, I feel for you, im the other end of the scale, grand old age of 44 now unemployed for the first time in my life, 5 children and finding that experience now counts for nothing, everyone wants qualifications these days, my downfall was moving overseas for 6 years and returning to the UK at a good time for the family but a bad time for everything else, hey ho, lets hope the new year brings us all new opportunities and a D300s with Sigma 70-200mm 2.8 (OK Im dreaming but what the hell) :-)

Go out and take lots more pics! Intend to travel quite a bit this year and hopefully be able to use all the expensive gear that I keep buying on impulse.

I wish Adrian and Sharon a more successful year job hunting. For me it will be looking for new challenges and photographic subjects. Really enjoy gigs but all the hype and complete incompetence thats around a lot of them is frustrating.

Happy new year to all!

Dunc

Mould my portfolio into a more coherent body of work to present to increasing commercial and editorial clients. Some more assisting work in the higher levels of production and photography.

3 big scale personal projects are in the pipeline too.

Contemplating a move to capture one pro too, just waiting for a couple more bug fixes for version 6.

I've really got the photography bug at the moment, and hope to continue my interest.

My main areas of interest are

Mountain bike action
Speedway
Landscape / seascapes

For me my primary interest lies in off camera flash and understanding how light can make dramatic images.

Expenditure for next year centres around Canon speed-lights and PW Flex.

Got a chance to go and do portraits of bands for a huuuuge fashion designer's diffusion label (the designer's main label designs for lady gaga!!) so fingers crossed that will work out in my favour!

The last few months I am pleased to say I have been out more often with my camera than ever before. So much that I have not been on TP that much:shake:
However I must find something to do with my camera when that horrible harsh summer light returns. I was thinking of trying my hand at still life shots.

I want to have a go this spring/summer at getting motorbike/racing car shots at Cadwell Pk, and do more wildlife.

the Canon A1 *will* be posted away for some TLC and that 'cough'

[been procrastinating with all the Royal Mail cock-ups this Christmas]

and then - take LOTSA film landscapes - just bought an old style Canon FD 35mm S.C. to try

I know it's not much, I want to upgrade my D50 to a D90, And stop looking for reasons why I shouldn't do things and start looking for reasons why I should...

To go full time :)

To work more on the development of my own style as well as the business stuff.

To shoot more personal stuff and push my own boundaries.

i've only had a dslr for about 6 months so i want to keep on learning and getting out and about taking pictures. working on composition and my pp work are my initial aims for the next few months, as well as getting to grips with the cheap flash i picked up recently.

a 2.8 18-55 or similar and a 30mm prime are on the agenda equipment wise

My aims are to get better as PP, and to learn more about using filters.

build a portfolio and hopefully sell a few more pics

This for me. I have a few shots at the moment which seem 'good', but I want to end next year with a portfolio of varied shots that are perfect.

Each time I go out with the camera I'm gonna set myself a goal to bring back something worthy of framing, where possible anyway.

Absolutely no big equipment purchases for me, filters at the most... I have what I need - more than I need really.

Planning on trying to setup part-time mid-2012, so training days and upgrades will take place then, might even switch to the dark side for FF, high ISO and FPS in one camera 'D4?'...

I'm going to buy myself the canon 17-40mm f4 L series lens for when I go to Africa in April.

Starting from scratch again, probably. Will see how things go. Watch out for the bailiffs...

Get off my butt and do some of the things I've talked to myself about doing!
Local live music is grabbing my interest right now but come spring, it'll be back to my beloved invertebrates, I think. My childhood ambition was to take the pics for the Observer Book Of Pond-life!

My plans for this coming year are simple - try and get out and actually take some pictures. At the back end of October, my Dad, who lives with me since my Mum died took a fall, and broke his hip. Since then, I've pretty much been tied to the house - it's been hard enough to find a couple of hours a day uninterrupted to get some work done and pay the bills, never mind actually getting outside for a walk with the camera gear with me. I've scraped together a couple of shots to finish 2010's POTY competition, but that's been pushing it.

Hopefully, as he's now on the mend as the Physio appointments and other commitments get a bit more sparse, I'll be able to get back to something more like normal. I do hope so, as I've got a 7d, and a couple of bits of L glass to make the best of - wouldn't you know it - the camera being bought just 3 days before his accident :bonk:

Shoot more film. Learn to develop b&w film myself.

Finish a couple of projects I've had running for a couple of years - or at least bring them to some sort of temporary conclusion where I have a portfolio for each project I'm happy with.

Start a couple of projects I've been mulling over a couple of years.

Learn to use my 7D properly.

Easy for me. My christmas pressie was my first flashgun, 430ex2, and the plan is to take as many portrait shots as I can to figure out how to use the damn thing properly. Poor family/girlfriend have no idea what they have let themselves in for.

Thus far I'm at the "full power, chimp, oh hell, reduce, repeat" stage

To carry on developing my knowledge and skill, to try and find 'my style' and to be fully self employed by next Christmas, or at least working part time hours in another job :)

Make enough to get a new 1080p video nikon and start playing with that :D
