Yes
I don't really need to go much further than that.

Do you just want to learn how to use your camera properly? Do you lust after another camera (or other camera-related gear)? Do you just want to get your name out there? Do you want to get your shots printed? Do you want to get paid for getting those printed? Do you want to 'master' a particular type of photography? Do you want to earn a living from photography?

Maybe it's nothing like that, maybe you just want to get the 'perfect shot' each and every time...

For me, it's to master glamour and fashion portraiture, get my name out there and earn enough money from it to avoid going back to work. If I can get anywhere near as good as Jason Cole I'll be absolutely chuffed.

I want to learn how to photograph people, learn lighting - then take photos of beautiful women. The 'dream' here would be to be getting paid for taking photographs of these beautiful women.

My dream is to be able to do this for a living.

I've a loooong way to go to get there, so I have some goals along the way:

1. Master my camera
2. Try every photographic subject
3. Hopefully I'll end up with one or two favourites, i.e. landscapes, portraits etc. Then practice, practice, practice until I know what I'm doing
4. Master Photoshop
5. Set up a website, and enter competitions
6. Start up my own business
7. Profit!

Doing step 1 and 2 at the moment :D:lol:

To make a living out of it.

I'm at step 6 and still working part time to fund steps 1-5! lol

Step 7 is probably 2 years away.

Just be able to do it, get the shots I want (which vary, lots of idea for lots of moods!) I've pretty much got a home studio on it's way, which will be great fun for portrait shots. I can't work due to health, so I want to enjoy photography as much as my limits let me - and push my limits too no doubt.

I pity whoever ends up sorting through all my photos when I'm gone though, lol.

To be able to take a decent shot once in a while.

I only want to achieve something that looks nice to me, while having a break from everything that 'normal' life brings.

If someone else likes a photo I have taken, then thats a bonus.

I would like to be a writer as much as a photographer, so I could contribute to travel mags or specialist mags that cover my other interest.
Unfortunately my grammer is as good as my photography, so for for now I'll carry on with the job I hate for a few more years.

Note to the younger folk on this forum.
If you have a dream, try your hardest to make it happen.
As you get older the dream is the same but everything else has changed.

To enjoy it.

I find the picture taking process very enjoyable in itself. I like to push myself a bit to improve and also enjoy learning. I'm leaning towards shooting more and more wildlife and would love to produce some of the shots I see on here, but I still dabble in different areas...except still life.

I've made a living from photography and hated it, so I won't be following that particular path again. I want to take photos that I enjoy taking.

I'd like to be able to afford to shoot large format. I lust over large format cameras. Otherwise, I just wanna get continually better at this - in terms of technical ability as well as creativity sometimes.

To carry on enjoying what I'm doing (I love taking photos of animals and get a buzz out of it :)!!). I think the main ingredient is to have fun and enjoy what you're taking photos of. One day I'd love to have one of my photos on a greeting card and have a calendar out in shops (with my photos in ) :)

Right now I just want to learn how to take halfway decent photos, although I'm already lusting after an SLR after seeing some of the photos on here :D

Nothing more than a hobby for me, but as long as I carry on enjoying it and improving, then one day getting a shot printed would be a real bonus.

To learn more and understand more then teach what ive achieved to others

oh and stop giving things away for free or feeling awkward when i have to phone my clients up to tell them they owe me money (like im about to do right now)

My first goal was to buy a dslr which I acheived my next is to master it and to keep on enjoying it, I hope one day to be able to take photos with the correct settings etc without really thinking about it which is probably a long way off

My main goal is just to enjoy my photography. At the moment I'm mainly doing wildlife and landscapes as they are what interest me the most. In the future though I'd like to push myself and expand my boundaries a bit to portraits, still life, macro and some abstract stuff. I've no intention of ever making a living from it but I do want to try and improve and explore each aspect of photography as much as I can.

I'd also like at some point in the future to maybe setup a wee home studio with a cheapy lighting kit purely for friends/family who may want some pics taken but the strobes and all that goes with it seem very daunting to me at this stage... but someday I'll get my head round it.

Tommy.

Master the camera so have shots i love anything else is a bonus that would not be rejected.

I want to be considered as a successful artist, whose work is collected for it's investment potential, as well as it's beauty

I'm very new to photography - I recently took some pics at a friend's stag weekend (clay pigeon shooting and curry!) and when they saw the images, they wondered why they were hiring a photographer for their wedding.

That, for me, was worth the hundreds of pounds I'd spent and the countless hours I've messed about with my cameras.

I never want to turn pro - love my current job too much - but I love other people admiring what I've done.

Can we see the pictures so we can tell you whether they were being nice or not? :D
