What are you reading and how ?

Hmm well my next choice i think is Dean Koontz Odd Thomas.... it's been a long time since i read Koontz, infact probably not read any of his since early 20's... sounds good though

That got me thinking as i read early 20's as 1920's :muted: :schtum:

I read about 15 koontz books when I was in my 20s then didn't read any more until recently when I read the Frankenstein series. I've started Odd Thomas but haven't picked it up for a while.

Sounds about the same as me, I read so many koontz, Grisham and king books in my 20's then stopped, not even sure why.
The true test with odd Thomas is if I have that urgency to continue where I left off this evening..fingers crossed :)

Am liking this thread, as a newbie togger, a lot of the stuff on here is over my head :runaway:, books however, I understand fully how they work ;)

Currently reading A Delicate Truth John Le Carre, as a break from ploughing through the Reacher series ( finished 8, about 8 to go). I can recommend the Reachers, while there are similarities in each story,
the settings and characters are varied enough to make each one worthwhile.

Reading on Kindle Paperwhite, resisted for ages, then realised I could take 20 books on holiday with a kindle and be under weight limits!
 
It does seem that like them or loathe them, e-readers are definitely here to stay. (I love mine).
 
Added Time, by the referee Mark Halsey. In paperback. Her indoors has a kindle paperwhite, I like to flick the pages.

I've just read Ghostman by Roger Hobbs - (its about bank robbers and organised crime etc - a "ghost man" being someone with no fixed identity who is sent in to sort things out when a heist goes tits up) - that was a read it in one sitting page turner.

with regard to Reacher the early ones were excellent, but the recent ones have been a bit formulaic - Reacher drifts into town, meets woman in trouble (in increasingly unrealistic scenarios), kills umpteen bad guys in various improbable ways, gets her into bed , kills more bad guys , saves the day (and increasingly the good ole usa from terrorist menace) then drifts out of town on the next greyhound. they are still readable - but where killing floor or die trying were read it again and again territory 'A wanted man' and 'never go back' were more 'read it once and give it a charity bookshop'
 
The next Peter James is out - I bought it in Tesco yesterday - he's another one who's still readable but running out of steam

I am just about to start Dead Like You, so I have a few to go yet and she has started me on Lee Childs too! :D

I assume i hope correctly that that was a Hard Back copy ?
Very seldom brought a HB book as i was always balked by the price although i had to have and still do a HB copy of Stephen Kings The Stand (The full un-cut version) all 1002 pages.
I must admit i prefer a book to be a goodly amount of pages :) :)
 
yep the paperbacks out in I think late sept - I don't generally buy HB either but it was only 7 quid and I had a load of money off vouchers to use up so it was only about £4 and change in real terms (ie not much more than it'll be in PB)
 
The name of the wind on kindle. Been reading it about a year, but I'm a bit dyslexic which can put me off picking it up because the story seems slow.

Haha good comment, i actually said to my daughter the other day when i am searching for new books on the kindle i will dismiss them if they don't have many pages and get excited if they have loads!:D
