Yes
I hope this hasn't been done lately  :$

Just wondered what TP members are reading and if your reading it in a book or on a device of some sort.
So
I will start hoping that i don't stand here in the cold all alone wishing i hadn't pressed the "Create Thread" :runaway:

Dean Koontz...
Innocence
Kindle Paperwhite

Currently, a Clash of Kings, the second book in the "A Song of Ice & Fire" series by George RR Martin.

Reading it on my Kindle Paperwhite.

I'm having to read all the books in order to prevent my withdrawal symptoms since the TV series has finished (for now).

Just finished the cuckoo's calling Robert Galbraith

Kindle touch-

although I vowed for years I would never get a device I succumbed and admit it's so much easier, I'll always miss the feel and smell of a physical book though

I only went to the dark side because my Book collection had outgrown my dwelling, So i kept a few that had sentimental value and donated the rest to Kettering Hospital some years ago when the first Kindle reared it's head.
They hold soooo many Books but i do miss my paper versions :(

American Gods by Neil Gaiman on PAPER, BLOODY PAPER YOU ROTTEN BLOODY HEATHENS, ALL "I WANT IT NOW AND CONVENIENT AND IT FITS IN MY BAG" WELL I'VE BOUGHT THE BLOODY PAPERBACK BOOK AND IT'S REALLY BIG AND DOESN'T FIT IN MY BAG PROPERLY BUT IT'S HOW THINGS SHOULD BE.

It's good, I'm enjoying it. And try killing a spider with your Kindle.

I originally went to the dark side purely because it was late one night and i'd finished my book, i get antsy if i haven't got something ready to start so i nicked my daughters kindle as a temporary measure, but she doesn't use it so it's become mine now:D

I have boxes and boxes of books in the outhouse i refuse to give up, i just can't part with them... the idea being one day i will have a complete wall of bookcases ( my own library room would be even better)

Spiders eek you have a valid point! many times i have been laying in bed wanting to get out but a spider stand off is taking place.... heavy book helps lots!:D

nothing at moment but have Terry Pratchett's latest lined up on the kindle along with about 500 other books for when i go away thursday

Civil War. An 800 page BOOK about Cromwell and his era. Tried a kindle and hated it. I just love handling a proper book, even a paperback one.

I have five books on the go, reading on my Android phablet.

The Mile, on Kindle app, Craig Smith
Follow the rabbit proof fence, Doris Pilkington
Night Owls, Lauren Roy
Marooned in real time, Verner Vinge
Islands of Space, John W Campbell.

The latest Jack Reacher is waiting in the wings in paperback, in case the battery fails :)

The Kill List by Freddie forsyth, in ye goode olde fashioned booke type thingy....

Have just finished Peter James's Want you dead, and also Jeffrey Deaver's skin collector. I can honestly see the value of a kindle ~(or similar / app for ipad etc), however not physically holding a book per se, makes me think buying a digital file is a "bit of a con...", and I just have a thing about books! I do appreciate though, how I can probably store several thousand once I add up the amount of portable gigabites.. but just the "holding a book" feeling, is better, but admittedly a pain in the arse, when the glue melts in 40+ deg of Spanish sun!!!

i have about 1000+ paperback books but having had a kindle for 3 years or so now i find it invaluable when going away for any length of time. as much as i love the feel and even smell of a paperback the kindle is alot easier on the luggaage !

Rogues by George Martin audiobook on ipad
Angels Passing by Graham Hurley paperback

silly as it is the one thing i had to have with the kindle was a case, so it feels like holding a book

A Sue Townsend book [not the Mole stuff], but be damned if I can remember the name without going getting the Kindle [put it down to age] but its a collection of monthly articles about random life stuff she wrote for a magazine over several years - just nice easy reading for warm summer evenings. We have several thousands books in this house so went to kindle several years ago, first on phones/laptops, then my daught bought me the original one that didn't have the keyboard. When that packed up prematurely at about 19mths old, Amazon did me a very cheap deal on a paperwhite, which I love because you don't need a light on to read.

Rendezvous with Rama - Arthur C Clarke.... on a Kindle... a proper Kindle with a e-ink screen.. not the stupid tablet.

I have no more room for books, unless I buy a bigger house. The rule in this house is all new books are on the Kindles.... unless you get rid of a book in order to buy a book.

E ink screen? not the stupid tablet.. what is that?

@Cg_Girl

There's the Kindle... with the proper black & white e-reader screen that looks like paper (e-ink), and then there's the Kindle Fire... which is just a tablet like any other.. with a normal colour LCD screen... which sucks.

Something Wicked This Way Comes

on a Kindle

Love my old e-ink kindle. The battery life and ability to read in bright sunshine make it a winner. Have the kindle app on my android tab and it's handy for nighttime or when I don't have the kindle with me.

Currently reading the new Bill Bryson and a review of LFC's season by the editor of The Liverpool Way. A very funny man and book.

Ring of Bright Water (Gavin Maxwell) - 1st edition hardback. It even has that lovely smell.

Consider Phlebas - Iain M Banks in a battered paperback. Will be moving on to Gravity's Rainbow by Thomas Pynchon after I've finished.

A handful of science papers on my iPad mini

The Selfish gene by Richard Dawkins on my samsung galaxy s3

Game of Thrones, back to book one, on iPad Kindle app

The Redeemer, Jo Nesbo on my Kobo

The Redeemer, Jo Nesbo on my Kobo

What's the kobo library like compared to amazon? My youngest has the kobo but not for reading just yet

Sent from Button Moon.....

77 Shadow Street - Deen Koontz - Kindle classic.
And if anyone tried to make a rule that I couldn't bring another book into the house without getting rid of one first, they'd need a colonoscopy to remove the book chosen to go :-)

James clavell's Shogun - paperback, for about the third time. The wife and I both have kindles (older ones) as we ran out of shelf space long ago, we started accumulating piles of books here & there, it looked like a damned wizards residence at one point! Now it's numerous trips to a charity shop & some kindle buying. I will still buy certain authors in print though as I like then on one of the book cases.

That's a good idea, my mum was looking at the nook but she wasn't sure on it, didn't think of the kindle app

Working my way through Peter James' Inspector Grace series, just finished Dead Tomorrow and about to start Dead Like You. Extra good for me because I know all the places where they are set really well!

Real paperbacks borrowed from a friend!

There has only been one book I wanted that wasn't available through my Kobo. Might be worth visiting there library and comparing that to the Kindle etc.

My wife has a Kindle fire and she uses it with a black background and white lettering, make it easier for her to read with.

Recently finished the Hunger Games trilogy. On kindle.

I may read an actual book next, my lounge being dominated by bookcases stuffed with them, some of which I bought almost 30 years ago.

Probably about 10 years since I last read a book, simply don't have the time for it.

I did try reading Dracula, as it came included on my last phone. But by the time my 18 month contract expired I had only got about half way through and my new phone didn't have it. lol

A Wilbur Smith - one of the Courtney series but I can't remember exactly which one. Proper book. I sometimes read in the bath and a book will survive (even if a little curly!) if I drop off - the Kobo would die. Might get the Kobo back from the MiL to take on holiday - barely scratched the surface of the free library I have on it! Much prefer reading from paper rather than a screen but prefer carrying a few ounces of electronics to a few pounds of paper.

Fantastic series!!! Love them all!!

A Dance with Dragons ( 5th book in the Song of Ice and Fire series) on Kindle.
I use a Kindle Fire as I sometimes watch films on my breaks- Despicable Me 2 is a favourite!
I have close on 3 thousand SF/Fantasy books in the attic, but it is easier loading up the Kindle with a series.
The next one will be Nomads of Gor. I have 23 of them and keep reading in the forlorn hope that they will get better. John Norman rules!
Well, he knows how to treat a woman properly :)
