I have just rubbed the pork belly with seasoning and am readying it for the oven later on this evening

will be having slow cooked pork belly, homemade apple sauce, roasted veggies and homemade rice pudding for our dinner tomorrow

would love to know what peoples favourite sunday lunch is? I must say i am a bit of a pork lover, but am equally fond of lamb :)

no no, just me ole oven i am afraid - not ideal but it will be on very low

am very excited about it - i do enjoy having a nice sunday dinner - both me and liam are getting better and better at them, so by the time the kids come along they will be well fed :)

leg of pork with the usual veg and some chocolate cake :D

fingers crossed my mother-in-law is doing roast chicken

In honour of your custom user title, I'll be having soup. ;)

May I slay a dragon as chief ingredient, or would that be chauvinist of me?

I'm probably going to have tonights leftover pizza!!:D Did my big meal on Friday, perfect lamb, dauphinoise tyaties, some greens, and a rosemary & redcurrant reduction! :)

Roast lamb for me and all the trimmings folloed by homemade chocolate gateaux

Do you slow cook in the oven?

I have an electric slow cooker, just pop the meat in and leave it 5 -6 hours later it is melt in the mouth.

Great if your working as well, just leave it in all day and steam some veg when you get home.

i do slow cook in the oven yeah, on the minimum it will go - would LOVE a slow cooker you can marinade all night, put in before work and its ready for dinner :) Unfortunatly after buying my D700 with equally expensive lens just a week or so again AND my metz battery going odd prompting another purchase this week of a battery pack for it... my boyfriend isnt going to let me buy ANYTHING for at least a couple of months :)

he wants some powertools me thinks and at the moment i certainly shant be denying him anything ;)

Argos has one for a tenner.....it does the job well.

Go on you know you want too.

a tenner!!! does it suck electricity from the wall like it cant get enough of the pulsing goodness?

or is it really too good to be true? :P

never notice my electric bills differ if i use it a lot or not.

cant think it would use anymore than having the oven on a long time..

[i think we are in the wrong forum..should be ''cooks are us'' lol]

hey its what out of focus is FOR

and its certainly what i am for, Moons and food thats all i think about :P

Bacon rolls, burgers and pot noodle while im carp fishing on my brothers syndicate lake:D

lol

i shall leave you to have a peek at the argos site and maybe reserved that slow cooker..................................nite nite

thanks jj i will have a good lookie at it and slowly (teehee) approach the subject with Liam :)

Hmm....would I describe the wife as a lady.......;):D She will also be having cold pizza for breakfast, if that would aid you in a decision!!

of course she is a laaady :) she is your lady no less :)

Lovely that you still share wonderful meals together - unfortunatly our kitchen is fair too small for two people to cook in it so we just make stuff for eachother :)

enjoy your pizza :) x

Chocolate cake is done, I'm tempted to skip dinner and get stuck into pudding :D

no but if their trains are anything to go by the foods going to be horrid :(

biscuit? :)

Whatever they are serving on the flight (fly to LAX in about 4 hours) :(

I find a decent sized box of chocs & some crisps bought from the duty free helps with long hauls, if the food is really bad then snack on them :)

my last few trips have been with Emirates and the food has been quite good

yeah i have eaten good food on Emirates too - and also on Mayalsia airlines that was very nice too :)

Corned-beef sandwich with branston pickle, some pasta and ham salad with Blue Dragon sweet chilli 'dip' for dressing and an apricot yoghurt.

Might have something more substantial for dinner but had to photograph something nasty this afternoon, the reek of which is sticking to me a bit...might have to shower first...

yummy yummy we just finished our roast :)

The pork belly came out amazing - really tender and nice, 12hrs is definatly how long to cook it for :) I also grilled it a bit just before serving to get the crackling nice and crisp :)

Very happy with my roast efforts - even made me own gravy - Yeah!

:nuts:Cool ...I wondered where you were...thought you had popped to argos:nuts:

Oh i will be definatly popping to argos :) very excited by the slow cooking thing :) so cheap to feed a whole bunch of people too - brilliant :)

Roast Lamb, Roast PPotatoes, Carrots, Cauliflower, Mint sauce topped off with mint gravy.
