Well the missus has just downloaded 50 Shades of Grey to my Kindle, she says that it great because no-one on the train can see what she's reading?![]()
The mans version. "Fifty Shades of Andy Grey"
Not a book, a series of tweets, but an amusing read none the less. Thought it was amusing on the first read, then noticed the underlying theme and lol'ed even more.

Just finished James Patterson 10th Anniversary, these murder club books are great for a rainy afternoon, I swap between crime and history especially the Forgotten Voices series about the two wars, if anybody is a military buff these are the best by far.

Started on a big stack of Le Carré books on holiday, a cracking read, good old fashioned slow boiling spy books
Already bashed through Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy and now I'm half way though The Honourable Schoolboy
Read the hitchhikers guide to the galaxy and some Jeeves and Wooster for a bit of light relief too![]()

Really enjoy the James Patterson series, although I thought the quality tailed towards the end. However, I will re read the last few and see if it was me that was changing rather than the quality of writing
I will check out the Forgotten Voices series, never heard of them. Thanks for the heads up.
Best regards
Chris
Hi Chris
The Forgotten Voices are tapes that the Imperial War Museum had made from interviews with veterans such as Harry Patch and they have put the interviews into print. Each book has it's own theme such as the Somme, S.O.E., Dunkirk and the Blitz( there are more!) I am a real geek about anything to do with the two wars and probably have far to many books but these are more than just facts and dates and you get a real feeling for what was happening on a more personal level. I have just brought Counterfeiter which is about a Norwegian Jew who had to make fake British and American banknotes and was made into a film, so many books and so little space!
Hope you enjoy the Forgotten Voices books, I think there are about a dozen so far so happy reading!
