What are the chances that you'll die in the next 5 years?

And that still doesn't matter, even on finance you need to be credit worthy but that isn't the point.
No you don't, there is lots of finance that can be had where someone else stands as guarantor. But It was implied that someone with more than one car is more affluent. In studies, more affluent people are considered to live longer because they are likely to have fewer money worries, so less stress and generally healthier. But I disagree with the fact that more than one car in a household is a necessarily a sign of such.

LOL You may disagree and know better than the Andrea and Erik who's study into this was published in the Lancet. I mean Andrea has only got a PhD in this stuff, and Professor Erik holds a medical degree. Merely the largest study of its kind. But nope @nilagin knows better, well you better write in to the Lancet and provide some evidence why the study involving around half a million people is flawed and that their questions are nonsense and that they have it totally wrong...

I mean seriously best get on it now, perhaps there is a Nobel prize in it for you ;) Sigh....

Come on then, enlighten us what the number of cars in a household has to do with the chances of dying within the next 5 years. This study with the questions asked and the obvious questions omitted, makes it no different to the daft surveys that crop up on Facebook. Just because someone has a Phd or a Medical Degree means sweet FA.

I done it and the result I got was "Are you still alive?"

Why don't you engage with them on that topic in the Lancet? Enjoy your discussion. And ahem, have you looked into the detail data that is driving this as part of the UK Biobank?

What's this how many cars thing?
It didn't ask me that <shrug>

Try putting that you are male, it asks loads more questions, always knew they were far more complicated and difficult ;)

Age 50, 2.1% Not bad as I'm 60. Will ensure I enjoy the next 5 years, although I thought 5/6 he's a night sleep for the last 7 years might have been detrimental. Glad buying the new Sprint GT has no effect.
Matt

By calendar 61, ubble age 47, 1.8% chance

Looks OK to me ;)

Looked at the article on Lancet and almost put myself into a coma. I can only assume Phd's and Medical degrees must be available off the back of a packet of Swedish meatballs. ;)

Real age 56 - ubble age - 84, 44.9% - but thats no surprise to me, I've know for several years that my chances of making 60 are fair to middling at best.

As Nod (glad to see your still with us mate) said, live each day like its your last, leave nothing unsaid or undone.
