What anti-perspirant do you rate?

I want one that actually stops sweat not just makes it smell nice. Everything I try, by lunchtime I seem to hum. And the armpits of my shirts get all scaggy in no time and washing doesnt remove it.

Roll-on? Spray on? "Wipe"-on sticks?

Would it help if I shaved off my 'pit hair? Prepared to try anything!
 
Roll-on either Sure, Sanex or if nothing on offer supermarket own brand stuff (ASDA generally). Far better than sprays for me :)
 
My son has this problem and he finds the Mitchum ones pretty good.

I went into the chemists and asked for some deodorant, the assistant asked me if I wanted the "roll-on ball" type. I replied I wanted to use it under my arms like anyone else!
 
One of my daughters tried hairspray when on holiday in Greece ... problem with the language I understand :D

Actually I don't know, I never read labels or instructions :D

All I know is, that they work for me, under some pretty harsh conditions.

used Mitchum for 20 odd years now after being self conscious and whether It is because of it or not (as I show no signs of underarm perspiration), to me it is the Mitchum doing its job. It's a lot cheaper now which is good, 20 years ago it used to be 3-4 quid more expensive than Sure.

They do both, usually says under the spray part.
 
Alum blocks. Often used for shaving but doubles as anti-perspirant - see here. No smell at all but does stop sweating. There's a link here to one on Amazon but there are many more sources. Google alum for more info. Not expensive to see if it works for you.

Lynx dry for me :-) but then again I don't sweat much! I just carry it in case of someone who's a bit fragrant with the pits department at work :-) I've heard that botox injections work but that's when you have a real problem :-D
 
I use Nivea sensitive works well for me :)
 
Used to use Driclor. Stings a bit if you're not careful how you put it on but very effective. Comes in a roll on. At the time it was much more effective than anything else I'd tried.

If you are going to shave (not sure I would) don't use it straight after!
 
The higher the aluminium content in it, the better it should work. I had issues during and after being pregnant, so went to the docs about it and that's what he said.

He did prescribe me a roll on with a higher than normally available level of aluminium (I live in Wales where prescriptions are free, so was cheaper than buying something like the alum block ;)).

Cheers for the feedback all. I'll look for Driclor and the Alum. Tried mitchum before but I didnt like the fact that the stick roll on thing was about 4" long but there was only about 1/2 inch of "stuff" actually in the tube. So I dismissed it as a rip off.

No blokes going to own up to shaving their pits then?
 
Great series that, shame its never come out properly on DVD/Blu-ray.

Ball or aerosol? Neither... etc

Not shaved but trimmed shorter.
I use Dove anti-perspirant. It doesn't sting, itch or leave any stains. I'd say it works very well as I'm in the gym 5 days a week and the pits stay dry. :)
 
:plus1: for Dove, the blue one Cool Comfort.
 
Been there, t-shirt in hand. Tried many different variations. Most would leave a rash after a few days use. Until I tried the unscented (Women's) Mitchum. Will never change now and I strongly recommend that you try.
 
Adidas Cool& Dry 48 hours, and Sure Men Quantum both set my smoke alarm off. Be warned.

Anhydrol Forte is the same as Driclor and available over the counter at most chemists - works absolute wonders. It may seem expensive at around £5 but it lasts for ages, last bottle lasted over 18 months!
 
Bought some sure 48 this evening and sprayed that on.

Half hour ago I asked the wife if she bought a new air freshener as it smelt rather nice in the lounge, took me 15 mins to work out it was the bloody anti perspirant!

Yes... sorry for not saying... although I can't imagine how a roll-on could ever possibly set of a smoke alarm :)
 
sprayed some on rather liberally once on holiday in turkey or eygpt ,it set the fire alarm off in the room and we had security banging on the door within a minute .ah well another bit of true but useless info to add to the pile of drivel that does the rounds :exit:
