Yes
I can't seem to resize for the forum without losing a lot of sharpness, I have Microsoft Office Picture Manager and Adobe PS Elements :bang:

Thanks is advance

btw, is this over processed?

With regards to the resizing... How are you doing it in PS Elements? What version of Elements by the way?

I really like the shot. Is it over processed, mmm not sure. If I was to be uber critical I would say there is something false looking around the outline of the man. Maybe due to how you burnt the sky?

usual trick is to resize to meet the 800 pixel limit
and then apply some sharpen to grab back as much detail as you can
without the dreaded halos appearing

Its PS Elements 5.0.2, but it resized it in Microsoft Office Picture Manager ( I had the same issues with both programs)

I tried resizing it down to 800x600 but it was 400kb which was double the limit for the site

Then I tried compressing it but to get it to 200kb it was tiny

Thanks Mike, looks miles better

I do it as a 2 step process.

1. Resize to 800 pixels on the longest side. Sharpen.

2. Click 'Save As' and specify jpeg which brings up a compression slider box. Adjust compressed size to 200kb or less (if uploading to Gallery here at TP. .... Save.

Ditto what everybody else says.

I used to use the Microsoft Image Resizer power tool. Really easy to use (right click on file and select res.) but realised after posting photos on here that you lose sharpness, just like you.

I use similar method to that recommended by CT in PS Elements 6 and it keeps the sharpness much better...
