what age would you like to die? would u like to live for ages even if it meant you was a cabbage, just a shell being fed etc, and no real standard of life? or if u get to that stage would u want them to just let u die or turn off the machine. if i had children id ask them to take me to holland or wherever to have me pass away
i know if im stuck in a chair or i get senile or alzheimers i wouldnt want to to live and be a burden on other people. just sat thining about it, watching peoples hospital if i reach 70 i can say ive lived a good long time and anything else is ablessing

lol its not a misrable Q and i dont do xmas anyway lol. it is just seeing this program n now and the fact that all these old people are by themselves, it just gets me thinking. and it says lots are isolated.

Ashers, it would seem not only do you not understand computers, you dont even understand cameras. 99% of your posts are in Out Of Focus. There are better places for questions like this :D

yeah but urs changes theres is a xmas pudding lol. and i was only saying that after watching that program about terminly ill people. it just got me thinking lol. and i know more about cameras than i do about computers. and i dont do xmas cheer sorry i do however wish people merry xmas coz its nice to see them enjoying it :)
 
and im in OOC until i get over my phobia of my camera i recently aquired due to recent events. as soon as im over that ill be taking pics and posting them again. :)
 
im 27 and so many months, august is my birthday so 27 and 3 months
 
i count the months to make me sound younger it doesnt seem so bad when your counting back from 30

Fair play about this thread. I feel so sorry for people who are alone and suffering. It is not pleasent.

It seems that this Off Topic thread has really gone off topic :); it also seems that Ashers really like this forum, so I say let's give him some Christmisi (sp) slack :shrug:

To answer the original question, I think most people - unless suffering from serious depression - would be happy to live for as long as possibly can, so long that certain elements are guaranteed: -

1. Quality of life
2. Quality of health
3. Financial stability
4. Emotional stability, and this is where it gets tricky.

While all 1, 2 and 3 are very easy for each of us to define, 4 becomes harder as the universe moves along and our "slate" changes every day.

Right now, I would say "I would like to live forever, if 1, 2 and 3 are guaranteed to the standards that I am used to"; but put in the fact that it would mean I will outlive my daughter, and I would hate that feeling. Outliving our kids is one of the worst pains of life.

So, given today's lifespan of people in the West, I'd say 90 is a good age to go; but I would be happy to go anytime as, in my interpretation of my faith, I am only here for a few years in an overall scheme of the universe and then I have to move on.


Now, everyone can get back to harrasing Ashers :p
