Im not usually one for posting links to BBC news stories, but this caught my eye this morning.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/magazine-30038753
In case you dont want to read through, its about the treatment disabled children receive in Greece, and how they are routinely locked in cages for extended periods. More so, it hightlights the attitudes towards these children, sometimes by their own Parents. A small quote from the story...
"Gina Tsoukala says the mothers of some of the residents do not even know of their existence. She believes that in some cases, when disabled children were born, the father and hospital conspired to tell the mother the baby had died."
Such a shame that these children will be disowned and caged instead of receiving the proper care and attention they need/deserve.
Apologies for the negative post, especially on a Friday
