Hired the 14-24mm from 'Lenses for hire' for a week. Can't get enough of this beautiful super wide lens. Love it!
A sample here at 14mm.

the sample is a little small, i can't even see it, can you make it bigger?

Wait till i get my telescope out.:D:lol:

When I buy my first DSLR I'd like to have a good wide angle lens, but I have no idea how much these cost, could anyone shed some light on this for me?

Think they're about £1200 ish.

Any other samples Merc ?

bloooooooooooooooooooooooooody hell, £1200? I don't think I'll be buying one anytime soon lol

Hard to judge on an image that size but holy hell that looks sharp. Full frame?

Consider also the sigma 10-20 and a number of similar non-catastrophically-expensive models. I think mine was £300ish

The 10-20mm's aren't FF. The Siggy 12-24mm is FF but the Nikon has a reputation for being excellent. The Siggy is cheaper though.

Cheers everyone. These lenses are about £1400 and for the twice yearly projects it makes sense to hire it. Here's the review of this beauty.

and another piccy @14mm. I was stood in the doorframe which you can see to the right.

Is the lens pulling in the door frame on right - thought there was no lens distortion on this lens ?

Nice pic, think you need to be thinking about using filters to hold the colour in the sky.

I hadn't heard of that - little matter - I don't have a 14-24mm

You will be able to soon. Lee are bringing out a special holder and filters specifically for this lens.

I'd have one if that front element was protected, I spent a few hours playing with one last year and it was phenomonal but I'd be too scared of marking it.

It may have been the angle of the dangle. The bus to the right is a far better yardstick.
If I'd have had a little more time I'd have done a couple of exposures on this. As it was, I was being harassed out of the station by the local kommandant for taking shots in 'his' bus station. :D
