Been playing about with the D1X for about two weeks now trying to work out why the white balance is so bad and I've changing all sorts of settings with no luck - consistent blue tint over the photo. Took some photos over the weekend and decided to check them out in Lightroom for the first time. They are fine, quality is great and white balance is spot on. It was the LCD on the back of the camera that was displaying the colour slightly off and in the last two weeks I never thought to check it on the computer.

Tell me about it! I'm still extremely impressed by the quality produced from an older camera when compared to my 400D. The pixel difference is noticable in the dark areas but only if you zoom right in but the actual handling of tones and the lighting is excellent when compared to the Canon and the spot metered is accurate at a frightening level, I can only imagine how the D3 performs!
 
The D3 is just stunning - 2 D2Xs have been replaced as a result of trying one. If you cannot afford one, DO NOT TRY IT, or you will have a large hole in your bank balance!

suprised it took you 2 weeks to look at photos you have taken but sometimes i am like that just do a shoot then not look at the pics for ages

Phew, close one. I only came to trying the D300 and D700, luckily my common sense didn't let me go further...

Wow. 2 weeks. I practically take pics off the card every day (or as soon as I get home from shooting something)!
 
Well, it happens to us all u reckon. Least you know what it is now and a good job its nothing more serious.
 
Hasn't anyone told you, playing about with your DIX will make you go blind !
