Cancer is an awful thing that destroys so many lives....

I was lucky when I had cancer... so... so lucky and I live my life with that in mind everyday
 
Not necessarily. You could easily put it in text rather than giftcard format. Like you say, you need to watch out for expiry dates. Simply putting a suggestion across that you could use this idea to spread the cost.

Yeah that is one option... like a promise rather than the actual gift card.

Katie did say she had to be careful with dates on the gifts
