Since Christmas, I've been looking to change my car. I've been looking at low mileage 1yr to 18 month old cars, one make and model in specific a preference of 4 out of 6 possible colours but with specific options fitted. Found a car listed on ebay and Autotrader, even seen the car listed on the dealers website, just one of the options I'd like is missing from the spec, but I could live without it if I had too. Went to look at the car this morning, it certainly looks great as good as new even and it's in the clearance sale they are having. Now for the doozy, in their clearance sale it's £1500 more than the ebay, autotrader and dealer website listings.
Why do they have to play games? I must admit I disliked the dealer from over 15yrs ago, when on a couple of occasions I was looking to buy new cars. Seems they are still up to their daft games. I couldn't be bothered to even make any enquiries, I'll just sit it out and hope another car becomes available elsewhere, might even get the full spec I'm after.

Any reason you can't buy it from Autotrader?

Because they have to pay for premises, wages and VAT, I'd imagine.

My sis was in a similar situation, pulled out the autotrader advert and they honoured the price.

If you don't ask you don't get.

I was hoping to negotiate on the advertised price as well as having my current car to part ex as well. Can't see them giving me £2k off the price of the car and a genuine trade in on my old car. I saw another car advertised, also on Autotrader and ebay, it was at a car supermarket, about 6 months older, but about £900 cheaper than the car I looked at yesterday. Phoned them up last week, to be told the car had been sold. Guess what's still being advertised a week later on ebay, Autotrader and even the Car supermarket's own website.

Most sellers on Autotrader have the car up for the lowest value that they see fit, you'll notice in most that the photos have a forecourt price in the window that's usually £1000 more - that's literally so they can haggle on the price if the average joe without internet turned up. Just wait it out, make an offer on the car if you really like it ;)

Got a great deal in the end. :). I found another car, exact spec I wanted, only a year old, not 16 months old like the other one, 2,000 miles less on the clock, got it much cheaper than the listed price of the other car and I got more for my part ex than I thought I would. Pick it up on Thursday. The sales experience was good too. Big thumbs up for Gates at Bishop Stortford and a big old raspberry to Dagenham Motors in Barking. :)

Maybe, not right away though. I will probably just start off with Eibach springs and go from there.

Get it remapped:D REVO who are a big name in the VAG tuning scene have just recently started doing Fords. Great company and I can highly recommend them if that's something you were going to think of.

If it does get mapped, it'll be Mountune. Doesn't affect the Ford warranty.
