I fancy a 6x9 folder to shoot some of these dozens of expired rolls?

I was looking at 6x9 options recently and ended up looking at Moskva-5's because they're cheaper then the original Zeiss Ikon they copied but still have a couples rangefinder.

Ross Ensign 820? English design classic, great lens and built like a tank.

It looked more like a statement with a question mark at the end!

Steve.

If you read it how it is written, he is questioning whether he fancies a folder. If read aloud, there would be rising intonation at the end of the sentence to denote a question.

This makes me think of the famous line from the movie Anchorman: "I'm Ron Burgundy?"

So he's Australian?

So, @Mr Bump the question we are still waiting to be answered is "do you fancy a 6x9 folder to shoot some of those dozens of expired rolls" ?? :D:D:D

Ikonta 524 is a good compromise, needs to be stepped down a bit or its soft but it has an uncoupled rangefinder built in and isn't nearly as dear as a super Ikonta.

I think it's the 8 models which are 6x9.

I had a moskva, wasn't really all that keen, big heavy not nearly sharp enough to justify the relative bulk compared to the much cheaper Ikonta. But the big negatives are nice and it have a weird old school rounded corners on the frame I quite liked.

Here's mine. Its the bog standard one, the Autorange versions sell for daft money, £1500 and up, but this one cost me £90 in minty condition.

Me too. I'd recommend it. Great results and good value. Always used it tripod mounted. I find it a bit awkward to fire hand held.
Am reading this with interest too as I've been pondering a folder myself. But if they're awkward to use hand-held then I'd prefer to bring a Fuji 6×9 if I'm carrying a tripod with me. The appeal of the folder is about its portability for me, to slip in a pocket.

I have an 820, never used it with a tripod and had some good results. Not sure if I'd call it a pocketable camera though as it feels as though it was machined from solid metal. Biggest likely issue is the shutter being gummed up - I had some good results from dribbling lighter fluid inside. The lens is impressive, most awkward thing for me is the shutter release is on the left-hand side when holding the camera in landscape.

Mine cost £25 from eBay after I reclaimed some money from the seller for a misdescribed item. At that price it's difficult to find fault with it. :)

Thanks chaps the Ross looks nice but I also like the zeiss one as my nettar that I have now is a firm fave.

I have a 6x9 Zeiss folder. It is nice!

Smaller than a 35mm SLR, five times the negative area.
