WEX Used Descriptions

So they score an item 9- with the following description;

"Lens shows little use, the lens exhibits a few marks including peeling and wear to the grips, light wear to the mounts and paint loss to the rear of the barrel. There is dust throughout the optics, this will not affect images in any way."

Now in my opinion a lens that has paint loss on the barrel with peeling and wear to the grips and dust present on a weather sealed lens can't be 9 on a scale of 1-10 !!!! More like a 7 surely ? It also seems to me to be contradictory to say shows little use, those wear and tear issues would not be present on a lens that has had little use.

I've bought a few used items off Wex over the years. I will only buy grade 9 or more.
In my experience 9- is more like 8 so I avoid.

Probably only seen with a magnifying glass, not noticable to the naked eye. You get dust in a lens pretty much as soon as you use it, weather sealed or not.
