GTA 5 is released on 17 September after delays and hype - anyone else excited as me?

Have played every GTA game since the original top down on the PC years ago

What's your most anticipated feature?

I like the three story/characters part. Also looking forward to flying a plane again, GTA4 was disappointing only having helicopters.

I'm excited by the content of the new version but gutted also that there is no PC release date yet!

Massively excited for the return of GTA! IV was the reason I bought my PS3 and I've been replaying the DLC episodes in anticipation.
Looking forward to customising cars and flying planes again and also a varied landscape, not just city streets like IV is.
IV is still a cracking game but I do miss the humour of Vice City.
Roll on the 17th!

I took a huge break between PS2 and PS3, and have just found myself 50% through GTAIV for the first time this week. Can't wait for V. :D

ME! Ive even got a week booked of work :-)

I hated GTA 4 but looking forward to 5, esp the online thing.

I got an email this morning from tesco saying my order has been despatched :) Hopefully the postie will deliver GTAV this time tomorrow.

We had this conversation at lunch time strangely.

I love the sandbox mode and althrough I know nothing about he new version I know it will be good.

I'm on nights this week so it's pointless me buying it until weekend, then when weekend comes I will not sleep.

I was worried my amazon preorder wouldn't arrive yesterday - so I went to tesco at 6am and bought a copy.

Now I have 2 !

Really impressed with it though - attention to detail is amazing.

Just played for about an hour and can feel myself getting sucked in already. Not one to play infront of my little kids though!

Seriously? Why didn't you just get one from Tesco the first time round?

Popped into tesco on the way home today and bought a copy.

Already it looks promising compared to GTA4.

My apprentice has been gushing with it all day..:shake:

As somebody whos last incarnation of GTA was San Andreas on PS2, I gotta say it sounds nutz.

He was jibberin on about buying casinos in the game with real money and collecting the profits from anyone using them in the game..

sounds like its blurring the lines between gaming and reality yet again

no doubt there will be lots of opportunity for the makers to make money over and above the initial cost of buying the game, along the same lines as apps & smart phones.

I was at my nephews the other night, he was playing something on the Wii, badlands or summat, a platform World that you need different characters to complete.
There is a platform connected to the Wii, you buy plastic models that you place on the platform and that character appears on screen for you to use.
£10 says there are **** loads of models to buy...lol

There are no real money purchases/betting in the game that I know of.
I'm sure there will be extra content at some point but the casino thing sounds like BS to me.

The game is superb. Really enjoying it compared to the last, Niko bored me to death.
The character switching is a great addition.

Went for a swim this morning in one mission, the water effects are stunning. In fact the graphics are a real achievement on such old hardware.

Here is a shot I took from my phone in game.

Is anyone else getting "jaggies" (aliasing) on the edges of objects?
On a PS3 with a 720p screen.

Can us normal people check you are adults ha ha
You know its not real

Can you taker a photo to show me what its like?

I have it on 360 and there is always going to be a bit of aliasing but I have not found it so bad it bothers me.

I'll be buying GTA V this weekend. The fact that it's more of a mature MMO now rather than (particularly in the case of the online modes) a major douchebag magnet makes me more keen than I was in my experience with IV.

I still don't fully forgive R* for making an apalling mess of GTA IV multiplayer though, and then actively refusing to do anything about patching it.

I just bought it today and was a bit shocked to see it has two disks and requires 8gb of storage space to install. I only have a 20gb Xbox so will have to do a bit of shuffling. On reflection though the apparent size of the game warrants the two disks.

I always thought it was supposed to have three cities though? The map included in the DVD box suggests it's maybe not as large as originally thought... Guess I'll have to wait and see when I play it.

Its ****in massive!!

I've been playing since Tuesday, and not really doing the missions, just driving and flying around, exploring.
I thought I'd seen it all, until I looked at the map in the box and realised I hadn't seven seen half of it yet.

installing to my hard drive now, anticipation is growing.

Started playing on ps3 last night. Only done a few missions, too busy exploring! Especially tearing up the mountains in a stolen 4x4!

Have to agree that some of the graphics are outstanding... Especially the water effects.

Has anyone gotten to the top of the big mountain near the top of the map yet? You need something meaty, I just about managed it in a bf injection with my right trigger jammed down, so don't even attempt it in something crap! Views from the hilltops are stunning, particularly around the vinewood sign, and you can parachute down and even spot the wildlife.

The beaches are also quite nice, with surprisingly realistic interactions with families and their dogs etc. it's also an eye opener how quickly a situation can escalate, and the police are NOT a pushover!

I have ordered a USB stick to install the second disc to so I don't have to use the disc in the drive.

The game is awesome. I have done a few of Trevor's missions now, the guy is a nutcase!

Pulling a heist is also very cool.

Ha ha, each to their own I suppose. I just don't get how adults get excited by a game that is all.

I guess it all depends on what you grew up with. I have always been a keen gamer ever since my Atari 2600

I can understand you not being interested just like my wife does not get why my camera equipment costs so much. :bonk:

If you rob the till in the supermarkets and then come back later they remember you and attempt to get away  in older versions you could usually just keep going back for more!

I managed to steal a executive jet from the airport and have just flown the entire map.. Until I accidentally flew over the military base and they shot me down within 2 seconds :-(

Pinched a jeep and drove to the top of Mount Chiliad. What a view! I wanted one of those motorbikes but no witnesses so took out the 2 sightseers not realising the police would hear it and be there in about 5 seconds! Quick exit via motorbike and even quicker death via cliff. Ouch!

The ability to hide from police is a nice update, that didn't really work in GTAIV. Loads more exploring to do. :D

A nice silencer for the pistol should sort that.

Did my first heist last night, decided to do it the stealthy way and earned a fair bit of dough (although one of the idiots I hired fell off his bike and lost his cut!)

Overall I love how non-linear it is, and am interested to see how Trevor (who I've just unlocked) plays into it.
