Western Digital 2TB Portable Hard Drive £110

Going for £99.09 now.

Do you reckon it would be silly for me to get this, rip out the HDD and stick it in the backup slot on my laptop?

Yes :D

I read about this particular drive and apparently it is a custom made drive made by WD.

It is taller than a normal 2.5" drive (significantly) due to more platters, and also has no USB it is simply a direct USB 3 plug on the drive so it won't plug in to your machine as you would normally expect.

Plus you'd get no warranty on the drive if you did that :)

i bought a toshiba 1Tb drive from Currys on 170113 for £49.99 well happy its back to £69.99 today

Thanks for that! That would of been a costly mistake!

I wouldn't recommend anything made by Western Digital.

Maplin are flogging 2TB Seagate drives for £80 and 4TB WD drives for £190.
