Yes
I have a stoffen diffuser and a couple I have made myself. I thought this would be good to use when I could not bounce the flash to help with softer shadows

Does anyone have one ?

Are they worth buying ?

If they are worth getting should I get THIS or a generic no make from ebay

It'll certainly have a positive effect on the apparent light size compared to a bare flash when firing straight without bounce - don't know how much light it'll soak up though

Thanks yeah the way I understood it was diffusers like this only made a difference if they are huge (as in a studio) and all others were a waste of time. But this one seems to get good reviews in magazines etc

So thought I would ask the people who really knew .... here

I use a 40x40cm soft box for a lot of my work and would'n't shoot without it in many cases. Compared to bare flash it just allows me to soften the light, even when I'm doing a full body shot; the shadows are definitely softer than those from bare flash, especially when I'm positioning it just out of frame. I use it off camera a lot but even on-axis (like your little soft box would be), there is a benefit.

Again, it's all relative to how fear the light source is from the subject....

Stuff like this just wouldn't be the same with bare flash IMO:

Thank you (good photo by the way)

OK think I will go for it, not a fortune so worth a try

Any recommendations where to buy from as they seem to be thin on the ground. The link above say they are out of stock and would need to re-order or something and just noticed their P&P is expensive

*update* just found premier inks ??
