£7 is a lot for a cake but it is so worth it. Providing they get the orange / chocolate / cake balance right. Will be checking the supermarket for this tomorrow.

O yes, me too.

£7 is a lot for a cake but it is so worth it. Providing they get the orange / chocolate / cake balance right. Will be checking the supermarket for this tomorrow.

I too will be sampling one of these ASAP. There seems to be some discussion on the lack of "orangey bit" at the top as it has been replaced by two seperate layers of orangeness running through the cake, similar to the traditional three-tiered (or is that three-layered?) Sponge a la Victoria design.

This has left some people initially disappointed although I think it's possible, nay likely, however that this will be an improvement over the original design for a cake of this size and consistency.

Either way, I'm going to risk it and will report my findings for the benefit of mankind. :salutesmiley1:

Why is this in Out of Focus? Shouldn't this important news be moved to Forum Discussion? :D

Blimey, you're right!

And hers was anatomically correct too what's the multi layer stuff and its the wrong shape

Adam and myself will be testing their new design tomorrow, and I'm sure Lynton's report will follow soon afterwards. Are you in, Matt?

I'll see if I can get one :D

None of these in my local supermarkets today. I'll give them 'til Wednesday to get them in stock.

searched hi and low for them... nunca, nada, none

Ah, that explains it, although the lady in my local Asda did say that whilst they may get some in the future, there's a chance that they won't because it's one of the smaller stores. I'll keep my fingers crossed.

In Asda from Monday apparently, Lynton (see Antihero's post above).

Maybe Yv's arranged for the deliveries to be "intercepted"? :suspect:

 I can imagine Yv and Yves Geza staring, motionless and occasionally burping whilst surrounded by empty Big One boxes.

It won't be the same experience as eating a giant jaffa cake though surely? The size/chocolate to sponge ratio is way off!

.... and the sponge will be way too soft.

That's your Five-A-Day in one go :)

Five? I'm not sure I could eat one of those things!

[heresy]TBH, I'm not a great fan of "proper" sized Jaffa Cakes - I'd rather have an orange OR a chocolate cake rather than a mishmash![/heresy]

I quite like a Jaffa now and again but that one is a little to much.
