But if i earn it its mine, and i do what i like with it.

As long as the bills get paid, i can do what the **** i like with the remainder.

Hope you didnt spend too much today, else youve set a precident for the future

That is what I intended with what I said.
I would consider that if you earn the money, you should feel free to buy as you wish,(excepting commitments like children etc).
But it is sweet that you are content to spend some on her as well, I know my ex sure would not have lol.

I thought they all did that! I tried it with the D300.... " What, this camera? Oh, I`ve had it ages, probably won it on one of those free to enter competitions, or something...." its usually downhill from there.
I just told her the D200 was too complicated for me and I downgraded to the D300 and had enough cash left to buy a 70-300 VR.

I could easily pass a d300 off as a d200 and the wife probibly wouldnt notice. Until she logged into my online banking and saw a strange £1k transaction.
 
I bought my wife a D40x when I bought my D200 but she has her own hobby anyway. She doesn't mind if I spend money on my hobby too. (oh and I can use her SB600 with my SB800!). I did 87 hours of overtime in 2 weeks last month so I can buy my new toy, a 17" macbook pro with hires screen!
