Hi All

I am having a short break in Llandudno in early Sept and want to travel on the Festiniog and Highland Railways and the Conwy line.
It seems I can do a round trip using both railways and the Conwy line so a question to anyone who has done it or lives locally and can advise.
Is it better to go Llanduno -Caernafon-Porthmadog-Blaenau Festiniog-Llandudno or the other way round for photo ops.
Thanks for any help

Chris

Sounds like a full day out. Can't see that direction matters photographically. I'd download the three timetables and see what works best logistically. An incredibly scenic circuit, even if you took not one photo!

If it is any help, we went on the Ffestiniog Railway a few years ago, and were very disappointed with Blaenau Ffestiniog - we really wished we had got off at the stop before (the name escapes me) which has forest walks and nice scenery.

Chris, I'd do it so you go from Porthmadog to Blaenau Ffestiniog - that way you get to go up the Ffestiniog, which means the engines having to work for a living - better smoke and noise effects!

Thanks for everyone's input , having looked at the timetables I had virtually made my mind up to go anticlockwise but Iain's input swung it, plus I get back to Llandudno at a reasonable time
