Was stopped at a roundabout as you do, unfortunately the car behind didn't.

Both myself and other half now with sore necks and backs dosed up nicely on painkillers.

Car seems to have fared better than we did.
Only the slight problem for Insurance co. in that the reg no. of the other party does not appear to be registered to the car that hit us.

waiting to hear where that will lead.

No didn't see need to involve them as both parties swapped info.

Insurers don't seem to worried so wait and see.

Hope you feel better, remember meal can be fixed, b ut you can't, so feel lucky ti wasn't worse.
 
I would still call police within 24hrs mate to be on the safe side, if its a dodgy car the insurance will ask questions
 
You did take pictures of the scene - didn't you?
 
had a bad one a year ago - if your shoulders ache or tingle, it's the nerve endings have been torn - go see a physio asap via your Doctor

daily exercises help the nerves grow - still aches after hunched over the computer too long

This happened to a friend of mine, He was side swiped by a land rover in Scotland doing a fair speed, luckily he was ok and the car took the impact well (a little polo) but when the insurance went to claim off the number plate he had taken down - they were in the middle of claiming from a lorry.

It was only when the operator rang him back to tell him that they were about to claim of X company ltd that he twigged the land rover was a farm vehicle and he questioned it.
They came to the conclusion that the original operator had typed the incorrect reg plate into the system!
 
go see a physio asap via your Doctor

also you may need Doctor and Physio reports to establish the extend of your injuries - for the CLAIM !!!

sorry to hear that, get everything you can from the doctor, last time I claimed for whilash about ten years ago it was a mandatory minimum of £1500.

Hope you are not feeling too much pain from your injuries. But then again more pain = more gain......if you get my drift:thumbs:

My back is really sore today but would only feel worse sitting in A&E so get it done locally tomorrow. GP has attached physio as well so 2 birds in one.

the physio exercises are SHEER BLOODING BORING three times a day.....:razz:


.....but stick at it - it just takes ages for the nerves to heal.........:thumbs:
 
If you've suffered injuries I'd report it to the police anyway. It's all on record then and helps incase the third party tries to claim you weren't injured.

Car now checked and surprisingly completely undamaged. Bodyshop said would take a lot more than a saxo at 20-25 mph to damage the passat in a rear ender.
Not quite so good for me and missus, but just whiplash / soft tissue injuries.

Got some nice industrial strength painkillers though.... peace man..

Did they remove the rear bumper and check the rear panel. I had a car rear ended at a slower speed the bumper had popped back out perfectly but the rear panel was damaged and had to be replaced.

being hit from behind can, and in this case obviously did, cause damage to the spine muscles and nerve endings which can result in months of discomfort/pain and physiotherapy

FWIW I am still suffering after 13 months - and as the accident was 50/50 fault allocation I did NOT claim a penny..!

if you never have experienced such an accident - I suggest you keep your remarks to yourself.

Get a second opinion on the car mate, a saxo at 20mph can do a hell of alot of damage, and I doubt it would have done nothing.
And if you are looking at making an injury claim, which you re entitled to do as you are injured, then having a car which does not need repairing won't help. "how can you be damaged if the car isn't?" type questions.

Also if the rear end is damaged, then it may make the car weaker which could cause more damage should someone else rear end you.

However, if you are not making a claim, and your car is not damaged, then it is worth clarifying with your insurance company if you have been involved in a an accident at all. Just being in one will put your insurance premium up, so if there is no accident, there is nothing to declare. With it not being your fault your no claims should be OK, but worth checking.

Have they clarified the other perosn is insured yet?

Just to re-iterate - get a second opinion.

If you are hurting then the impact is clearly enough to damage your car. The damage can often be hidden from view - behind the bumper or even a small crease in the boot floor. Moving on if there is issues around the boot floor this can affect alignment as the rear struts are attached to that area.

I really wouldn't trust a bodyshop that said that. They weren;t working for the insurance company were they?
 
As above, would get a second opinion. Although it may not be cosmetically damaged, there could be chassis damage that you cant see.

Also, ive owned a saxo and they generally to fall apart on impact with anything :)
