Yes
On the under side of the push button control at pelican crossings is a knob that twists when the light turns green - for use by visually impaired people.

My 10 year old daughter told me a while ago and I driver her nuts by running up and chuckling when it knob turns :geek:

Cheers.

Well i know what i am going to be doing when i next go to town:D

Well that's new to me too. Will have to have a peep!

Yep I found this out when walking with the children on school trips out, its really handy :)

I'm pretty sure it posted on here before

We have found an easy way to spot fellow TPers :). Look for the people crouched down looking at the bottom of the box :p
Holding up irate drivers by shoving the button and not crossing :D

I didn't know about that either - I'd always assumed that was what the beeping was for and never really gave much thought to anything else!
Guess who else is going to have a play next time she's at a crossing

I guess the also have to allow for the slightly rarer but still to be catered for deaf+blind community, god that really must be terrible
