My names Paul and although from Merseyside, I've been residing in Chester now for the last 13 years so kinda become a scally posh hybrid :lol:

I've owned a dslr for the last 3,4 years now starting with a Canon 350D then upgrading to the 40D but it's only really been the last 15 months or so that I've thought, well I've got this decent camera and I love looking at fantastic wow pictures so i may as well learn how to use this thing to its full extent so been doing lots of research mixed with a little bit of practice to get better experience

I'm still at the early learning stage and will probably badger you with lots of questions and hopefully learn enough to help others.

My personal preference is studio portraits so looking forward to trawling the forum and mithering the masters of studio photography.

Anyway, thanks for reading and look forward to being part of the community

Hey, don't let that put you off. This is a large place, but this section, for what ever reason, is not that popular. 'Just Dave' and a few others here do a lot, but can't be expected to do all.

I only respond here once in a blue moon myself. (After a few drinks. ;-))

You will find the forums helpful, friendly and on the odd occaission downright rude.
However, the place is moderated fairly by some (;)) good dudes.

So give critique when you can, post stuff for critique, ask questions, talk shi-ite in OOF and do not ask about classifieds until you have been here a while and posted at least 30 times.

It's a great place, just join in. If you get an idiot, (unusual, but possible) click on the red triantgle and report them.

hi quite new here myself - you've found a fantastic place to be great people lots of info/advice lots to learn as i'm finding out myself..
