Just wanted to say well done to Petemc on reaching a 1000 entries on his photoblog, and what an entry, with the capture of Liverpool during the launch of the Capital of Culture 2008.

Congrats as well on conquering your fear of heights to get the shot :thumbs:

I'd like to join you and say well done.

I had a look at the early post Pete made, and have to say that the photography was pretty ordinary compared to now. Pete definitely has a style that is his own.

Aw, thanks guys :) Having a good few days being a photographer. Champagne and chocolate cake tonight to celebrate :D

It's a view I've been wanting to try myself forever, so I'm very jealous. ;) And to get up there at the time when there was something so big happening down below must have been such a buzz. :D Love the light beams.

There was no way to get pics amongst the crowd, as there were just too many people. I stood on the outer limits that had a reasonable view, but the crowd just came and engulfed me, so I didn't even bother. Going back further and I wouldn't have seen anything. :(


If I had the high quality version, I could maybe zoom in and see myself. ;) :lol:

Funny thing is, Lee linked to yesterday's photo which was entry 999 :) This is todays 1,000th entry. It was incredible from up there. I got to see the crowd really build up. I got to watch it with my eyes, not through the tiny viewfinder too. I've been in those crowds before and its so hard to fully appreciate the numbers. Even from up high we couldn't work it out. We thought 10,000 but apparently it was closer to 40,000. Insane.
 
Well done, looked at your stuff before, some very impressive and inspiring work you have there. :thumbs:

Nice one Pete and a great one to hit the 1k mark with. I bagan my own at the start of the year. If I'm anywhere near your standard after three and a half years I'll be delighted.
