I'd just like to express my congratulations to my lovely wife who has today joined the L club with the arrival of her brand new Canon 100-400 f/4.5-5.6L IS USM lens.

After deliberating pretty much non-stop since we decided she'd like a lens with longer reach and better image quality there has really only been on lens on the horizon that was good enough to fit the bill.

Some people thought it was a bit silly having two of the same lens - the only problem being is if we are both out doing distance stuff, the 100-400 does not leave my camera.

So there we go, she'll get a proper chance to try the thing out on Tuesday at the Chester Zoo meet :)

I'd best go update her signature (she doesn't know how to do it herself)

Many thanks to Kerso for once again providing a cracking lens at a great price

Congratulations! I hope mother & "baby" are doing well ;) - look forward to seeing some pics from the new lens ... Paul
BTW do you have a somnambulist postman

nah Special Delivery stuff tends to arrive at 7am on the dot for some reason

Conspankulations. Enjoy your L club membership. :D

One more pro body and you can join CPS I think.

well, there's nothing wrong with twins! Barry and I both have a 24 - 120 lens...we fight over the others ;)

OOoooh wait till you have kids....... it'll be more a case of....can I afford an L plate for the car!!!!

Make the most of it......while you can...and congrats!! :D

Congratulations on your new arrivaL :) Have fun with it at the zoo on Tuesday, looking forward to seeing the shots you get!

Great lens to use. I was at the last Paris airshow and I went down to where all 'enthusiasts' were and I lost count of how many of them had 100-400 is L lenses on their cameras. :geek:

Excellent - congratulations :)

Sue - look forward to seeing you post some of the results from the zoo meet!!

Two 100-400L's !!! Now that is bragging rights

does that make a 200-800? Congrats :)

I have used mine on my 20D with a x2 and got good results. The only thing is you need lots of light and you have to manual focus, oh and use a fastish shutter speed.

lol, well thanks everyone,I am on nights at the moment, and another new arrival on the cards any time (sister-in-law in labour) so dont think I will get much chance to try it out before the weekend :( but will certainally post some shots when I have had chance to use it.
As for when we have kids, well might as well make the most of not having them at the moment. Think for now we will settle with what we have got, as for the body Marcel think we have enough :)
