Hello Peeps,
Thought I would share something with you all that I have noticed twice up here in Shetland this past month.
Right now we have almost 24 hour daylight as the 'simmer dim' approaches. I was pottering about last night about 10:30pm and went outside the house to see something really weird.
There was no wind whatsoever (in itself a miracle for Shetland) and the sun was just going down. So far so good but the amazing thing was the clarity of the light, it was just mind blowing. The best way I can describe it is to say that there was no atmospheric haze and visibility seemed totally unlimited.
The air was the clearest I have ever seen it, it was quite disconcerting as I am used to seeing at least a wee bit of haze. The colours seemed very vibrant and everything was rendered in great sharpness.
We had this a couple of weeks ago, the kind of calmness where you can hear people speaking on a beach across the bay about a kilometre away.
Very unusual but very nice.
