So what are you all up to this weekend?

I have 2 large pots of paint and an endless supply of music to amuse myself with... :help: No photography involved, I'm afraid :p

im ill, so im doing absolutely naff all...ive processed some old pics and made some amusing PS creations for a few friends, other than that..naff all

aww poor Matty is sick, me stroking you isn't helping you at all? :D Get well soon there Matty.

As for my weekend plans, I'm going up to Rama for a wonderful thanksgiving dinner tomorrow. I usually do the dinner but not this year! :D Were all going for a round of golf as well. Oh, and always a wee bit of homework. :gag:

Bin shoppin! bl**dy knackered after carryin TWO four place dinner services back. Why she wanted TWO is beyond me, but then thats the price I have to pay for a trip into the toon. Mind you, I did get to go to the camera shopy and acquire a Cokin P holder and a load of filters ;)

So I guess tomorrow will be busy making sure the filters work correctly :D

Kids made us breakfast in bed this morning! Tea and toast!

Got up around 9ish and did some washing. Took pictures of bugs in the garden, processed one or two and uploaded them. Then we had lunch (home made soup!) and I went out to cut the grass.

Now I'm about to watch the match, drink beer and finish the day with a take-away :woot:

Today's been quiet - had a nose at RobertP's tripod - very nice thanks Rob!

However tomorrow I'm running in the Nike Run London 10k around Hyde Park - 30,000 runners - it should be fun.

First time I've tried anything like this - I'm doing it with a friend from work - between us we've raised £1,000 in sponsorship for Cancer Research - I'm amazed at peoples generosity!

It'll probably finish me off though!!

nice one John, good luck!

Just spent an hour watercooling the PC , pity you can't photograph silence , it's soo nice after years of howling CPU fans :)

You think if I watercool the kids, they'll get quieter while the footy is on?

If they're being watercooled at the local pool & you're at home with a beer, sounds like a plan

Been out all day, this morning went from Radcliffe to Stoke to collect my 2 L lenses, then from Stoke to Barrow, took a few hundred photos whilst the boats were racing, no crashes! Met up with a few peeps off photograph-on-the.net and chimped at the shots.

Tonight a posh meal and drink session at Windermere Powerboat Racing Club, then emptying my Dad's caravan tomorrow as he's packing in for the year, so a busy one!

Glad my photos came out okay, looks like Canon worked their magic!

And my Mac laptop is ace!

Happy Days are here again......

Carl.

Good luck in the run John!

Min... you seem to have a constant desire to open paint tins ... are you sure youre in the right job, lol!

Matty, hope youre feeling better soon.

Myself, have spent this afternoon getting upset with my mom about a favourite aunt with a terminal illness. Got to put my happy face on now though ... nails to do tonight & nail pics to do tomorrow, so thats my weekend taken care of.

Hope everyone else has a good one!

 to Glo and Matty

No desire to open paint tins, just a necessity I'm afraid..... it's a job I've been putting off for months, but now the living room is p*ssing me off that much, I thought I'd better get on with it.

PS Glo - nice to know you're regular

Thanks min.
Think my living room is screaming out for me to open a tin or two now.
Might get started after the next comp is out of the way, though I think with all the experience youve had of late ... you may have to come round and give me some guidance! ;)
PS Glo - nice to know you're regular
Hmmm! tbh, Im surprised that's all Df came up with ... I expected much worse, lol!!!

I think it's an amalgamation of those and having a nasty cold :(
I wanted to go to the market tommorow, but I may just stay in bed, instead.

Want to go to Goose Fair but the wife wont come so looks like a night in front of the box.:shake:

Hope you are all feeling better soon! Is it one of these computer viruses?????? ;)

I went shopping today and got myself a 50mm F1.8 following advice from all the nice people here. Multi tasking now: watching TV, typing on my laptop to you guys and glugging a nice dry white. Now, if I could just get a winning ticket on the lottery...............

Another weekend task completed, chicken roaster located :cuckoo:

I've had it in mind for a while to find one of these gizmo's, but when I read the write up on this one, well:

"Beer can chicken - roasting a chicken perched atop a beer can has become popular at barbecues. But getting the bird off the beer can gracefully can be a challenge plus you never know just where that beer can has been. Now weber makes it easy to get the same juice flavoured results sans the can. Simply fill the aluminium reservoir with beer wine or fruit juice. Stand the bird on the cone-shaped infuser and aromatic steam rises and cooks the bird to juicy perfection in less time than ordinary roast."

So, just how many of you do stuff a beer can up the chickens bum when you roast it  :naughty:

Didnt have much planned, but I can tell you they did NOT include being woken up at this ungodly hour by the kids with cries of "Can we get up yet, can we get up yet"

Child throttling in such circumstances should be legal :p

Just had a message from my mate stuv (Steve Collins) and we are going to York to the Harness racing this afternoon (Expect more shots from there soon) ..:)

Just loaded the bird table up with seed/nuts and a little bread to see if I can encourage them so I can get a few shots but nothing as yet..:(

At this moment in time I am trying to load another skin on to my new T-Mobile Vario 2 mobile phone I got 2 weeks ago..:bonk:

Some great features on this unit including WnW/email/MSN/tomtom/ the list goes on. I am very impressed with it so far..

Wifes away, got the dogs to look after, horses to feed, then it's a nice short trip to the motox :)

Up at 6:00 this morning, kit packed and down to Tynemouth. There unfolded a beautiful sun rise. Now to do some PPing :)

Sound nice WS..except for the last bit :| ;) ....did you get some good shots??

Not much for me this weekend...went shopping yesterday for a bass guitar for my Danny, ended up finding a Westfield? ...I think   A reasonable standard by all accounts and only £59 from the Pawnbrokers  ...borrowed a lead and bass amp from a friend...whay....He’s been playing Wild Thing continuously since then apparently....I say apparently, because he lives with his mum. :naughty:

Off down to Brick Lane market in a bit, just an excuse to take some people shots really, possibly... If I chicken out of that idea theirs a second hand photographic stall down their...old bits and pieces but he may have something useful...and I need a guitar strap for Dans guitar as well.

Lets just put this morning down to one of life's little learning curves.

#1. A Cokin P will still give vignetting on a 17 - 85mm IS USM below 28mm.

#2. ALWAYS check what mode your camera is in. After all, you wouldn't want to shoot a whole load of shots in jpeg and not Raw, would you?

:bang: :bang: :bang: :bang: :bang: :bang:

Have spent much of this morning entertaining Arkady with cups of tea and bacon sandwiches... now it's back to the painting <groan>

I've also just become the new owner of a Nikon FM2 (thanks again Rob :D) which I have to get my head around. Gee... this film malarky is complicated

Congratulations on your new arrival ;) :D

Just got back from the run in Hyde Park - what a fantastic feeling to have done it!!

RobertP was there with me, camera in hand, and, no doubt, will post a few shots of the event. Maybe even some of me looking knackered!

Now a bottle of wine in the garden while the sun is still shining followed by a nice dinner!

John

Excellent!

Congratulations mate,

I bet you'll be asleep within the hour :D

Well done to you Dark Star!

As for me - I went down to Kent yesterday to Scotney Castle (National trust place near Lamberhurst/Tunbridge Wells) -hopefully got some decent shots, they are downoading as I type. Then went on to Eastbourne for the speedway and saw my beloved Ipswich Witches get dumped out of the only remaining competition of the season, then to round off the day nicely I had a 70mph collision with a deer on the M25 at 11pm on the way home.

Ouch, just noticed this, hope you and yours are OK.

I take it the deer didn't survive?

After taking about 200 in RAW instead of jpeg this morning I'd have loved to, I HATE processing
