Ive just booked myself on a weekend photography course for beginners at the Blackthorne Photographic School http://www.photography-courses.com/

£160 for the weekend, really looking forward to it now, I did the Shutterbug course with James Stone, which was very good, so Im now hoping to build on this and hopefully get a lot better now, and the good thing is its only a stones throw from where I live.

hi, im thinking about going on a course to, tell how good it was when you finish thanks.:)

Hi Tony
I live in Cricklade and was thinking of enrolling in a course up at Blackthorn.
I'm very new to this dslr stuff but am loving it and want to do a course to really kick start me in to action.
Which one are you doing and when? You will have to let us know what it was like.
Cheers

Well the course was excellent, it was run by professional photographer Chris Milne, and starts at the very beginning, lots of hands on and a very good PDF format hand out to read through, there was 6 of us on the weekend course, nice environment to learn the basics, and even though Chris was a Nikon man (which I was well pleased with) he took time to go through the workings of everyone's cameras, one by one, and made sure they understood everything before moving on, all in all a very good course.

I am going to do the landscape, portrait, and photo-shop courses next year once Christmas is out of the way.

Looks like a good course, I might have to venture from London for a weekend course in the new year :).
