Its my fiancees 30th in May and she has never been to London, so I am taking her for the weekend to do all the cheesey touristy stuff. Trouble is, I have been to London loadsa times on business but never had to stay there for pleasure.

Can anyone suggest an area or a reasonably priced hotel that is central or is in a good location to do the usual sight seeing. Was planning on doing the london eye, river cruise, madam tusards, tower of london, the dungeons and anything else you can suggest. we'll be getting there Friday lunch and coming home monday lunch so there might not be time for everything but any suggestions on how to tackle this will be greatly appriciated

I'll have a think on hotels, but don't forget the Design Museum too.

depends a little on what you mean by budget - bu the Marriot im county hall is a good bet - central. bang on the south bank and right next to the london eye. Unless you're willing to go out a little way then 'budget' is going to be relative though

There is a premier inn near the london eye thats £330ish for 3 nights room only which i thought was a good price which I have just stumbled across. I think this might be a go'er

when we went down we stayed at the travelodge docklands, really handy as you have to go through docklands security to get to it so your car is safe( don't take any pictures though or put a tripod up) :D

Docklands light railway is a 2 minute walk, 5 mins and you're in central london.

just did a quick search, 3 nights 7-8-9 may is £55 a night for a double room, spend less on the hotel more on the sightseeing
