Need a bit of inspiration from you folks. I'm off to Cornwall for a long weekend in a couple of weeks doing a bit of family visiting (i know it gonna be cold!).

Now i think i'm going to be able to get a morning or afternoon to get out and get some photo's.

I just need a bit of a helping hand. Some pointers on where to go for a good landscape, or subject matter.

I'll be based around the St Austell area so anyone got some suggestions they will be greatly appreciated.

I know it's not free and really you could do with a whole day there but if you haven't been, the Eden Project. You'll appreciate the tropical biome if it's cold out :)

StAustel is inland, I think I only went to the brewery and thats closed down now.
Newquay will be good for some freaky hippy street shots, the beaches are fabulous and probably dead this time of year.
Tolcarne, Great Western, Lusty Glaze have some cool beach huts...rows of them, and cliffs, West Pentire, The Gannel, Crantock, Holywell bay, Whipsyderry, Watergate bay have stunning views, Fistral will probably have lunatic kite surfers.
St Ives is a crush of narrow side streets clutter shops and elevation, as is Padstow.
Truro Catherdral is cool for a shot or two if your passing, inside and out.
St Micheals mount is worth a trip
EarthStation Goonhilly was one place I didn't take a camera, but wish I had.
I think lizard point is a more jaw dropping location than LandsEnd.
Looe is nice, Mevagissy is nice, anywhere on the coast, I havent done much inland.
I ought to post some Cornwall really:bang:

Holywell bay, Carbis bay, Mullion cove,Perranporth, St Agnes,Godrevy lighthouse

If the weather is kind, it's a good time of the year to go.. Ohh just noticed you are in Hampshire, much boot space ;)

I had planned to go to Eden Project on the monday, spend most of the day there and then come home. And i don't think it's that expensive.

I remember some of these places from when i was a kid and had holiday's with my parents. Got some hazy memories of what they look like and their photographic potential. Goonhilly closes at the end of Nov, so i'm 2 weeks late for that.

I hope the weather is kind, but its the UK so you never know! Godrevy lighthouse?? Can i find that on Maps Live?? As for bootspace, i drive an MG TF (small 2 seater sports) so not mega room. But enough for a couple of weekend bags and my camera kit!

Check out the surf forecast at www.magicseaweed.com. If it's going to be anything like the surf predicted this weekend at Fistral the waves will be huge so you could get some nice images of fierce coastal sea condtions. The wind may spoil things but if the conditions hold up the legendary cribbar may start to work off the headland.

Cribbar? you say ... it's Englands biggest breaking wave that only works a handful of times a year when conditions are just right ... it's gob smacking when it kicks off and only the stupid or talented attempt to ride it.

Lucky you. I agree with the comment about the North coast, very rugged and spectacular views. Port Isaac is lovely with it's narrow, winding streets and the harbour and also Tintagel and Boscastle.

Im not up to scratch with my cornwall, but if you can strech Cape Cornwall is definately worth a visit and i wouldnt miss it if you can get there !!! Eden project is a bit pricey so...

EDIT: Sorry just looked at a map, it will be a 1 hr 30 drive so a bit long ...
